Hi
Can anyone help
We are arriving in Orlando 5th Nov and my father is an avid fisherman, he would like to go fly fishing on one of the lakes (not sea fishing) but we don't know where to start looking. He will also need to rent a rod etc, does anyone know of anywhere reasonable that he can do this, l believe he will need to get a boat, does he need a captain or can he hire a small boat and drive it himself, sorry for all the questions :)

:thanks:

Hmm fly fishing isn't a big thing in FL. At least not to my knowledge. You can hire a guide that will provide all the needed equipment to go fishing and not in the ocean. A service such as www.hawghunter.net can give you some ideas. It would really depend on the kind of fish he is looking to catch.

Fly fishing is pretty tough in the lakes around Orlando....

Sometimes the fish school up off shore a bit, and that would be the time to try them.....Fall is generally the time of year for that, but off hand I can't think of anyone who does it as a matter of course:confused3:confused3

Florida fish like to hunker down in grass....that's just their nature:lmao:

I fly fish for trout in the mountains, and for some bonefish, but I've never done it around Orlando.

There are numerous fishing guides around the area, including the Disney trips, that could put him on some nice fish....Fall is a GREAT time to be fishing Central Florida---alas, I'm missing it this year.
