today out of sheer lack of any other food being in the house, I ate some oatmeal. it was pretty good. I put some maple syrup in it. Now I think I'd like to eat it more often. So what do you all like in your oatmeal?

brown sugar, occasionally a splash of milk.

Brown sugar, milk and pecans. YUMMMMMM

I eat my oatmeal uncooked with a container of nonfat yogurt. Nice quick breakfast with right amount of protein, carbs and a dash of fruit for good measure

oh yes brown sugar is good also! mm. And I made the oatmeal with milk so that is also covered. I don't really like yogurt so I'm not sure that would work. Thanks for the suggestions! Keep them coming.

Are you me? That's exactly what I like. :thumbsup2

I've also started making the maple and brown sugar flavored oatmeal and adding chopped pecans. I need my crunch. :teeth:

I am an Oatmeal Conssisuer! (sp) I love my oatmeal and eat it for breakfast every single day. Here are some variations I use. I start out with the Quick Cooking Oats and go from there. I don't like the packets because I can't control the amount of sugar I put in.

1. As mentioned above, brown sugar and a dash of cinnamon with some chopped walnuts or pecans
2. A cup of blueberries with a packet of splenda
3. A few teaspons of peanut butter with a drizzle of Hershey's chocolate syrup on top
4. A container of the ready to serve peaches in syrup.
5. A cut up banana and a teaspon of Sundae Syrup caramel
6. A cut up banana, diced strawberries and 1 packet of splenda
7. Diced banana, tsp of peanut butter, 1 packet of splenda
8. Cup of rasberries, and a shot of Giardelli White Chocolate Syrup

I am currently testing out some new variations so I will let you know if I find anything else yummy!

At first, I thought you meant you put Marshmallow Fluff in your oatmeal! :lmao:

Anyhoo, I have been trying to eat more oatmeal but I cannot get into it. I am hoping to get some ideas here. When I eat it, I usually put cream or milk and a LOT of white sugar in it.

Brown sugar, raisins, dried cherries, apples, banana, dried apricots, dates.

The best thing is to make a really big batch of oatmeal with brown sugar and raisins (or whatever kind of dried fruit you like). Pack it into a bread pan and refrigerate it until the next morning. In the morning, slice it, just like bread, and fry it up like a pancake on a hot griddle. Serve it with hot maple syrup! It's just like eating an oatmeal cookie pancake!!! My kids beg for it during the winter!

I like peanut butter and jam OR vanilla yogurt (or plain with some splenda added). I also like the traditional brown sugar but try not to do that too often.

Sliced almonds and sugar free strawberry jam. I also used rolled oats and put the cooked oats in a colander and rinse them off with hot water. I learned this at the Four Sisters Inn in Seattle. It makes oatmeal a whole new experience!! Instead of thick, gloppy stuff, it's light and fluffy separated pieces of cooked oats.
