Flu Shot

I had my flu shot last week. No side effects or arm pain with it. Ive gotten the flu shot for years and luckily have never had any side effects or arm pain from it.
Now a tetanus shot is another matter all together. I get arm pain galore from them!

Got flu and covid shots yesterday at 8:30am. This morning around 2:30am I woke with bad body aches and a mild fever but it caused me to shiver and break into a sweat so hard I had to go put on winter pajamas. Took advil and feel much better. Just fatigue and maybe a hair nauseous. Also have a sore spot in my armpit on the side I got the covid shot. Must be a popped up lymph node.

No regrets.

I got my Pfizer booster this past Thursday morning. My arm started hurting Thursday evening and it was really very sore all day yesterday but started to ease of. Today, the soreness is 95% gone. I had joint aches most of yesterday and felt lethargic, never a fever (which I did get from the flu vaccine). Some joint aches this morning but it's all on its way out. I had zero reaction to my second Pfizer dose. In fact, my imagination went wild with that one and I was sure I got a saline shot or she injected it into the fat versus the muscle. Still perplexed over that.

My parents got the Moderna booster yesterday. My dad has zero side effects and my mother has the usual joint/body aches. No fevers or anything.

Thank you to everyone who is posting their experience. I’ve been hesitant to schedule my booster since I had such a rough time with #2, but reading your posts made me feel better and I scheduled my appointment.

Got the Moderna booster this morning (all three shots Moderna). Didn’t feel it going in but arm is a tad sore now. Fingers crossed if I get a reaction, that it’s mild. Got the flu shot a couple of weeks ago, no problems with that.

#3 Pfizer went well - fewer side effects than #2 (just a sore arm that a single ibu took care of).
Flu shot also went well - sore arm again, but no ibu...

My best friend had a really rough time with #2 Pfizer. She was pretty nervous about the booster. She did get side effects with the booster (headache, fever) but it was much more tolerable than after #2. I don't think I've yet heard anyone say #3 was worse.

Just a sore arm....not horrible though. I didn't think it was as bad as the flu shot

Updating for myself:

DH got Pfizer #3 on Thursday and was feeling fine until late yesterday afternoon - headache, mild fever, chills. He had the same reaction after his 2nd as well.

I got Pfizer #3 yesterday and so far it‘s only been a sore arm today - almost identical to the flu shot. and I’m tired, but that’s fairly normal after teaching all week. I’m coming up on 24 hrs post, which is when symptoms set in for DH, so we’ll see. I felt like I got hit by a truck after my 2nd.

I really like the CDC's V-Safe sign up after the COVID vaccines. They follow up every day for first week, then once a week for 6 weeks, then at 3, 6 and 12 months. It says takes less than 5 minutes to answer the questions, I find it takes me about 15 seconds. Benn getting them since my first back in early Feb.

I've answered every text I've got from them, I like it too. Just got a follow up text for my 6 month mark and another text asking if I got a booster I can update the information.

We just got our flu shot as walk ups for CVS inside Target. Was there to get something else. We kept waiting for my husband work to do a clinic like last year (which we got our flu shots on October 20th last year) but they appear to have dropped the ball. HR told him they were working on it like a week and a half ago but finally we just decided to get the flu shot elsewhere.

At least now our CVS pharmacy accounts are updated as they had some old information there.

I'm sure we'll end up having sore arms but I'll update if something more than that occurs.

For a booster I'm in the position that I'm wondering if my body needs it as in the protection is waned and I also don't know if I should mix and match and do a Moderna instead of sticking with Pfizer. I had a pretty rough 2nd dose and I'm really not looking forward to experiencing all that mess again but as I recall on average Moderna showed a higher percentage and severity with side effects. Also if I went with Moderna the dosage in the shot even at half dose would still be more than what is in Pfizer. My husband technically isn't considered eligible I'm eligible based on underlying medical but my husband is sorta leaning towards Moderna as a booster should he end up being eligible in the end.

They aren't really for reminders, it's there to report how you're doing so that's why it's only available to update how you're feeling within a short time since v-safe is about collecting data on side effects and such.
