$$$ of course everyone should get vaccinated!
More "$$$$$$$$$$" if you end up in the hospital.. Some people prefer not to gamble with their health..

Does the CDC get paid for every flu shot given out?

Sorry I'm at work and tired and completely missed the CDC part..
anyway i do feel in general that a lot of these recommendations are for $$$ (not from the cdc per say but when your dr. just HAS to push that latest vax on you or your kid)
No. Finland banned flu shots for children.

I have the oppertunity to get a free flu shot through my work...I work at the airport, and am around a lot of....well lets just say the "Unwashed masses"...and I currently DO NOT have health insurance...I am scared to get the shot because I may get sick from it, and I am worried to NOT get it, as I cannot afford to get the flu...Stuck between a rock and a hard place...
Are you getting one this year?

Nope, we never get them.
I run a day care and am never sick. Literally, like never. Last day I took for illness was a two-day stomach bug when I was pregnant with DS over 10 years ago. The most I ever have is a slight cold. I think I've got immunity to everything thanks to the constant barrage of sick kids??? That's all I can figure since nothing else makes sense.
Now that I've said that, I'll probably get the flu this year and be sick as a dog....![]()
, yep, hope you knocked on wood
.. We never get one either and we work in medical

Nope. Never do. I'm allergic to thimersol. DD received it once when she was a year old and 3 days later was in the hospital with RSV. So nobody here gets flu shots.
Nope. I'm one of the "lucky" few who got Guillian Barre from a flu shot. My kids don't get them either... just in case whatever caused me to get GBS is hereditary. DH will not get his this year for the first time in 22 years... he retired from the military in March.![]()

The "hype" you refer to is pretty insulting to us in the healthcare field. We take care of the ones who are deathly ill as a result of the flu complications. Esp. with H1N1, it was children that would not have died from regular flu, that died from the swine flu.
