Flowers, Segways & DIS Meets, Oh My! - Updated 10/26, Final Thoughts-FINALLY!

Happy Birthday Michelle!

Love the pics of FOTLK!! They are absolutely beautiful!

Happy Birthday! I love your Birthday presents - they are so cool! Good job mom! :thumbsup2

What a great morning at AK. Your FOTLK pictures turned out really good. I don't know if they cut the dancers, because I missed the show this year. :sad2:

Your Devine looks very different from mom. Her facial characteristics are so different from the one I saw. Interesting! I know that more than one person is Devine, but I am surprised at how different they are. Don't want to reveal my pic yet....but I will soon.

So CONGRATS to your boys for getting such great recognition you should be proud!!!

I really liked all your AK photos, great shots of the safari animals! I don't think we have done the trail with the gorillas, only the walk with the Tigers. I will most definitely find this one during our AK days this summer. Great update!!!

oooh, those are nice gifts from your mom! How sweet!

I lvoe your pics in your updates. They are way better than what I could have gotten with my little point and shoot. You got some great shots of the animals!

Happy Birthday Michelle!!!! Hope you had a magical day!
Great pictures of DeVine! I saw her that day too but yes, as ME pointed out she is different than the one I have seen before. She is mesmerizing!
 I have NEVER seen the dragon waterfall!!! :rotfl2:
Oh my it was sooooo hot that day....we actually had CS at Y&Y that day too....I remember sitting there eating an egg roll in the sun and I was melting into the chair.

Tracy

Happy birthday! A little late...:rolleyes1

That was so sweet of your mom! I am with you, a return trip is nothing to joke about!!! I love your new figures.

I saw DeVine briefly this trip and it was very cool! Your pics turned out great!

Michelle!

In honor of your birthday I read this entire report in one sitting... so now I'm officially on board and all caught up! :lmao:

(Sorry, I haven't been DISing much lately.)

Your mom sounds like she is so much fun... and a great traveling companion! I'm really enjoying reading about your trip and seeing all your great pix.

I love Jim Shore, too! So addictive!

Happy Birthday!!

Kathy

 It was such a fun morning, thanks for letting me tag along with you and your mom!

Once again, your pictures of FOTLK turned out WAY better than anything I took so I can skip that part of our morning too right? :rolleyes1

Hanging out with us Disers didn't teach your Mom that trips to Disney is no joking matter?

party: Happy Birthday Michelle!!!!!!! party:

(when are you joining FB so we have a heads up on these things ;))

Mom has to understand by now that I will begin planning a Disney trip with even the slightest chance that I might get to go - she really shouldn't tempt me

Thanks for the birthday wishes!

On FB - I don't know, I'm still holding tightly to my resistance........

Happy Birthday, Michelle! Hope you are having a fabulous day!!!

Getting you those two Jim Shores figurines was super sweet of your mom! I adore the Tinkerbell one!

I always enjoy seeing bats and tigers in photos. I feel like that tiger -- I could use a nap right now.

Thanks Jackie! I did have a pretty good day. Don took me to lunch, then that evening when he and the boys left for baseball practice I met a couple of my girlfriends for dinner and margaritas!

I love my Jim Shore figurines

I hope you're feeling more energetic now - school's out, right?

I can't wait to see what Mom thought of EE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is my family's favorite coaster in all of WDW! :thumbsup2

I love it too! Not so sure Mom did though......

:bday:HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! I'm loving the updates so far. A big congrats to the boys!! It seems the older they get the more running we have to do for them. I'm thankfull that DS can drive himself to football.

Gosh, I'm already getting tired of going and we haven't even started basketball yet! Part of me is ready for Justin to be able to cart himself around, but another part of me is scared to death about it!

Happy Birthday Michelle! :goodvibes

You got wonderful FOTLK pictures. We had nosebleed seats and my zoom didn't work so mine are horrible. :rolleyes1 I just love that show!!

I'm glad you and your mom enjoyed Yak and Yeti. I want to try that next time maybe. Sounds good!

Thanks Kelli!

We actually got to the theater a little late, we had our choice of sitting about 3/4 of the way up, or moving all the way to the top. We decided to move all the way up so that we could stand to take photos if we wanted to and not be in anyone's way.

Y&Y was pretty good :thumbsup2

Happy Birthday!!! :goodvibes I just love the Jim Shore figures that your Mom got for you...how sweet is she?!

I really want to try Y&Y one day. Maybe on our adults only trip :confused3 Sounds like your frozen lemonade was just perfect for such a hot day!

The bats were SO creepy, but cool. Also, you are the third positive review of "flights" so I guess I should check it out! I am looking forward to reading about your EE ride!! popcorn::

Thanks Katie! I was excited about my gift :goodvibes

The frozen lemonade hit the spot! It was nice to have something cold and refreshing.

The bats ARE creepy, but I just can't stop watching them, they are so cool at the same time!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MICHELLE. Hope you have a great day. :bday:party:party::bday:

I love the pictures of DeVine. We saw her for the first time (and our last time at AK) in 2008 when we went with our best friends for our 25th anniversary. We've never done Flights of Wonder or Lion King. Hopefully next year as we aren't doing AK this year (although Mark really wants to see the new baby elephant).

Thanks Kathy! I did have a pretty good day :thumbsup2

DeVine is so pretty, I was really happy to get to see her.

Love the figurines...very cool!

Awesome updates! You got some great pictures on the Maharajah Jungle Trek. I love that one of the tiger. FOW is an awesome show and so is FOTLK. Interesting about the # of dancers possibly being reduced. I guess I haven't seen it enough that I wouldn't even remember. All I know is it's an awesome show!

Aren't the so cute?! :goodvibes

I felt like I didn't hardly take any pictures on the Maharajah Jungle Trek - I was eating my frozen lemonade which made taking pics a little difficult....

FOTLK is a great show, reduced dancers or not. It's a must see for me every trip!

So many nice Animal Kingdom pictures. I could spend so much time in that park just watching the animals without ever riding any rides. The tigers are beautiful animals, even if they are lazy so much of the time.

So glad you got to spend the time with Katie. It's fun to meet new DIS friends. :goodvibes

Sweet Mom to get those Disney figurines for you. However did she know you would like something Disney? :rolleyes1 I'd take her 'joke' as a cue to start planning! :cool1:

It's so easy to get nice pics at AK, it's a very photogenic park! And your right, I could spend a day there easy without riding anything.

It was great meeting Katie, we had a fun morning together.

I don't know how Mom ever figured out that something Disney would be a nice gift for me :confused3

:lmao:

joining in!! popcorn::

Hi there and :welcome: thanks for joining in!

Happy Birthday :cake: party: :cake:. Hope you got to do something fun.

You are helping me plan my solo AK day already....I can eat at Y & Y CS & finally go see Flights of Wonder that I have wanted to see but can't ever seem to get Eric to go!!!! And maybe I might get to see Devine as I have never gotten to see her. Gotta get him to pin down the details on this conference so I can get to planning.:thumbsup2

Loved your Mom's thank you gift. That was thoughtful of her.

Thanks Melanie! I did have a good day, got to have a nice lunch with my hubby, cake with my kiddos and drinks later with my girlfriends!

You'll have a great time at AK by yourself getting to do all the things you want to do!

Happy Birthday Michelle!

Love the pics of FOTLK!! They are absolutely beautiful!

Thanks! :goodvibes

I'm sorry you missed FOTLK! There is always another reason to return!

I'm going to have to go back and look at the pics of the first DeVine that I saw. I'm excited to see your pics from your AK day, you take such fantastic photos!

So CONGRATS to your boys for getting such great recognition you should be proud!!!

Thanks HD, I am pretty proud of them - of course, right now Justin is irritating me. He's in an 'it's all about me' stage - it's quite aggravating! :headache:

Yes, go see the gorillas! It's such a pretty trail too.

oooh, those are nice gifts from your mom! How sweet!

I really do love my camera, it can be a bit of pain to lug it around, but the pics make it worth it :thumbsup2

Tracy

Thanks Tracy!

Sounds like we were in alot of the same places that day - probably right next to each other and didn't even realize it!

The dragon waterfall is on the right side of the bridge as you cross into Camp Minnie Mickey - check it out next time!

Happy birthday! A little late...:rolleyes1

Kathy

Hey there Kathy! Don't worry about being late, I know you've had a lot going on lately, I'm so glad you're here now! :goodvibes

Mom is fun to travel with, she's a pretty laid back person and she just kinda let me take charge - you know the Disney planner in me loved that!

The Jim Shore stuff is so cute! There is one that I looked at in December and again in May - it's the 7 dwarfs walking across a log. I really want it, but I bought myself a D&B both trips instead. I think I need to go back to Orlando and get it........

After Flights of Wonder we still had some time to kill before we could use our EE FPs, and some a/c was sounding pretty good right about then, so we made our way over to watch the Nemo show. :fish:

While we were waiting, we were treated to a couple of incredibly LOUD children sitting behind us. Not just your typical 'we're excited so we're talking loudly' kind of kid voice, but out right screaming for no other reason than to just hear themselves scream kind of voice. And the parents were far from discouraging it, it was more like they were encouraging it - yeah, it was fun! A roll of duct tape sure would have been nice right about then...... :rolleyes1

Eventually the show started and they thankfully quieted down some. A few pics from Nemo:

Does anyone else find themselves nodding off during this show? I don't know if it's the a/c, the dark theater or what, but I always tend to drift off a bit while watching this. I mentioned it to Mom and she said she found her eyelids getting heavy as well!

When we left the theater it was time to go in search of that Yeti! :woohoo: I love this ride and find it so smooth, Mom on the other hand felt like it jerked her around a lot. I think she was glad she rode, but she wasn't in a hurry to get on again!

By this time we were in need of refreshment, so we were off to find some!

First we stopped for a photo

IMG_3675.jpg

Then made our way over to the Dawa Bar

IMG_3683.jpg

For a very yummy Lost on Safari

IMG_3677.jpg

If they weren't so pricey I would have had another - yum!

We were seated just in time to be able to enjoy the drummers

IMG_3678.jpg

I also decided that now was a perfect time for a jalapeno cheese stuffed pretzel, I wasn't sure if we would make it back to AK that week and it was of utmost importance that have one. So, I strolled over and brought back one for us to share. Here it is, the super yummy pretzel - if you haven't had one yet - get one!

IMG_3682.jpg

When we finished our drink we were up for one last stop. We made our way over to the

I love this show and Mom enjoyed it too, she laughed and screamed and covered her nose at all the appropriate times - we had so much fun being honorary bugs! :3dglasses When the show ended we stayed back and took a few pictures

Then made our way out of the park, we really needed a short break before heading to Epcot for dinner that night. One last pic

IMG_3692.jpg

And we said goodbye to Animal Kingdom.

Coming Up: Can you get your emergency out of my way?!

Back up the bus!!!! What is a Lost on Safari??????????????????? Inquiring minds want to know!!!! And where are those pretzels? Close to where I can get the cocktail????

Oh my goodness! Not only did I get 2 updates behind but I missed your birthday! Please accept my belated wishes!:flower3:

Add me to the nodding off during Nemo...love it and haven't actually fallen asleep but do tend to get heavy eyelids! We've never seen Flights of Wonder and I am not a bird person but I think I'll brave it this summer.

As usual, all of your photos are fantastic! Love the ones of you and your mom.:goodvibes

Great shots of Nemo! We seriously underdid photos this trip and because we enjoyed the show (no, we might be in the minority as we didn't feel like nodding off), we didn't take a single shot!

Your pictures of you and your mom are great! I should have asked her about EE!

Oooooo, you must try one! It's two different kinds of rum mixed with some kind of fruit juice - it's quite tasty, and if you time it right, your DS can enjoy the drummers while you enjoy your drink! You can get the pretzels at a couple of different places, but yes, there is a stand pretty close to the Dawa Bar, it's down kind of by the entrance for the safari.

That's okay Stacy, we have birthday jubilees around here - I'm going to my friends house to celebrate it again sometime this weekend, so you're not late at all! Thanks for the birthday wishes! :goodvibes

I enjoy the Nemo show too, so it's not like I'm nodding off due to boredom! Must be the temperature change, going from hot to cool - or maybe I've just always seen it in the afternoon when my body could use a nap

Oh, I bet your pics would have been fantastic - since unlike me, you actually know how to use the different settings on your camera!

You should have asked her about EE! I didn't know until later in the week that she wasn't all that fond of it - I guess she wanted to pretend like she liked it okay, since I went on and on about how great it was.......

Is the Dawa bar in Africa? I am having a terrible time picturing where it is  (the reason I have never tried this heavenly sounding drink!!)

Doing a happy dance in honor of your Lost on Safari!!! party:

Aren't they just delish???

The thought of sitting there and sipping one while the drummers perform sounds so divine!

Happy Belated Birthday Michelle!!!

What a sweet gift your mom got you! How thoughtful!

You know, I have never seen Flights of Wonder! I wanted to see that this year, but wasn't able to accomplish it. Next trip for sure!

Can't wait to see how she likes her ride in your next post!;)

I've probably said this before, but you are so good at taking pictures! My Nemo ones didn't turn out at all. Yours are fantastic! And be sure to add Duct Tape to your don't forget to take to Disney list! :rotfl: I can't stand when parents think it's funny or cute when their kids act like that. I guess that is the kindergarten teacher in me coming out...if they think it's cute at home, then the kids act like that at school and don't understand why I don't think it's cute. Glad you enjoyed the show anyway and at least it was a break in the AC!
