So Jenna, for what reason did you get the honor of Mom visiting :confused3

She just wanted to get away for awhile.

I do feel bad for her. She has been sleeping downstairs in her house in a lounger for the last 6 weeks or so. She can't hear at all when she takes out her hearing aids, so she didn't feel safe. Her home alarm is supposed to be installed this week so hopefully she will be able to sleep in her bed.

Anita, have you bought your airfare yet for November?

That sucks, does she have any friends or interests to get her out of the house or anything ?? maybe she should think of selling the house and moving into a gated condo :confused3

My mother and I are going to a wine dinner on Saturday

We got Dad to drop us off and he's going back to be with the dog.

No, i'm still waiting for a decent fare, I can't believe I haven't even seen a $59 one way rate yet, maybe my luck has run out, but I have never paid more than 120 RT, and most often I get a ding and get the fare for about $100

Hardly any friends, no hobbies. She won't sell the house.

After she has the alarm system put in, Mike is going to go up there and install a system where her bedroom light and other lights in the house would come on to wake her up in case she doesn't hear the alarm.

Make it a beer dinner, and that would be right up my alley :yay: but poor Dad, why does he always have to miss out

He isn't all that interested. He's happier with the dog and the television.

He's not even coming to Disney with us next month. I would think he'd have gone for the kids. But he isn't into Disney anyhow.

Hopefully something will come out for you soon!:wizard:

I always have paid around $150 - $180 RT.

I don't like what's up with Southwest at all.

I've abandoned them for the rest of the year.

Well I wonder if she will even feel safe with the security system, it seems like she need something to occupy herself, I feel bad for her now

I know. That is the problem. She drives me nuts, but I feel sorry for her.

She is going to have to find something to do though. She is only 67, still young enough to have many years left.

I have only flown Southwest & ATA, I don't even know other airlines, sad I know, but I tend to stick with what I like :confused3 ATA has since stopped flying to Orlando out of my airport so now i'm stuck with just Southwest

My mom is 71 and I can count on her to do the food and wine stuff or go to Disney. She likes doing that sort of thing.

She's told me we won't be able to do a lot of walking this time, maybe we should look into a scooter for her and she can run people over

It's really a shame, maybe she just needs some more time to adjust to being alone

I have another couple of flights with US Airways because they were listing at $69 each way and their return times are a lot better. So is my transportation situation because they fly to National.

And I got a bunch of miles from them for the Europe trip so I can work on getting a free one to go to California next year...

You are lucky to have such a good relationship with her!:thumbsup2

:rotfl: That could be fun !! and for an added treat, you can post about it beforehand over on the CB :yay:

My Mom or Dad don't want to go to Disney, makes me mad  they haven't been there since they took us when I was about 9, they just have no interest at all

That sounds like a good plan :thumbsup2

I was trying to convince my DH to go to California this summer, but he doesn't want to go because he knows I want to do Disney :rotfl: but that doesn't mean I can't go, so I hope we all can plan a Disneyland trip sometime
