I'm debating on whether we should have bubbles blown when we walk back down the aisle, or if we should have the guests throw flower petals. Can anybody tell me which is the better option, or any insight/advice about it?? TIA.

I am partial to bubbles... :teeth:

I didn't want the rose petals, they could get messy, I think.

bubbles look amazing in pics, too! :thumbsup2 In addition to our guests blowing bubbles (we had those wilton bubble wands), we had 2 bubble machines!

I vote bubbles...

I vote bubbles...only cause they're so gosh darn fun!!!

Petals would be beautiful, but the previous poster is right...more mess...plus the more chance of falling/slipping

Bubbles might stain your dress when the soap solution lands on it and pops, might not show up right away. Bubbles are very slippery, ruined a WDW trip for us when I fell/slipped on some Disney "snow"

We got married last July, I cant believe it will be a year already, but any who, I opted for bubbles, because flowers were too expensive. But when I found out that price they were going to charge me for bubbles, I almost had nothing. So what I did to save alot of money was I went to Wal-mart, they sell alot of wedding things in mine, and I bought 2 boxes of bubbles, I think they have 25 individual bubbles in them each. Then I bought ribbon that matched my dress almost perfectly, tied them through the loop and packed them as a carry on. I dont know if you can do this now though because of the new traveling rules, but I would look into it. The day of our rehersal I gave them to Claudine, and she took care of passing them out, and everything. I absolutely loved the bubbles. You see in all our pictures as we were leaving the wedding pavilion all bubbles, it looks so beautiful! They didnt stain or anything on my dress, which was important because the next day we did the portait session at the MK! Hope this helps! Good luck!

We stayed at the YC during that time and we saw 2 weddings one early in the am, and the other one at night? Was that your wedding? It was beautiful!!

I vote bubbles.

I'e watched demo videos of weddings from prospective videographers and I've seen some people throw roses right in the grooms face (jokingly of course:goodvibes) but it doesnt look very romantic. Petal still land harder than bubbles. Its easier to walk through bubbles than closer your eyes because petals are being thrown at you.

Just My Opinion

My vote is for petals....bubbles leave a sticky residue and flower petals are just so classy and romantic

Another vote for bubbles here, they look awesome in your pictures.

I've seen so many beautiful bubble pictures here I chose bubbles. However, it was very windy on my wedding day and the bubbles were blowing over us and in the wrong direction. If I had that to do all over again I would probably go with the flower petals.

good question! I was debating this too (but we only have 6 guests, so no big display for us either way), but I'm still undecided after the posts above! Anyone have any photo's of either, to see how they look?

I'm still undecided too. All are great points and now I'm having a difficult time deciding.

Despite all the fun facts about bubbles, I think I'm going to go with the petals for a couple reasons (if anybody is interested) although this is not a for sure decision.
1) I think they will be a better display with only 5-6 people throwing them
2) The wind won't be as big of a factor
3) I've seen pics of this and it looks really nice
4) Whenever I'm around bubbles I always seem to manage to get them in my eyes-red eyes are not good for pics
5) I don't want to take the chance of slipping on bubbleness or getting my dress stained with the solution

Plus, the comment about them getting thrown in the grooms face wont happen, it will be our parents my brother and maybe his sis, they wouldn't do that.

glad we were able to help you with your decision! since you have so few guests, though, I think either option would have been ok. You'd probably only really have to worry about slippage when you have 100's of people throwing/blowing things at you...;)

Can I vote for neither and go with confetti? That's what I'm having tossed at our's. Although if I have to pick between the 2 I'd go with petals. The reason why I would avoid bubbles is the soap solution gets very slick and although it doesn't really stain your dress it makes the ground very slippery. At a friend's wedding her mother slipped (and this woman was not old or ungraceful) and broke her ankle -- not exactly what you want people to remember about your wedding day. Petals are actually easier to tread on although they feel silky to the touch they aren't slippery. JMO.

I'm going with bubbles. I bought mine at hobby lobby when everything was 50% off. I purchased 48 of them, tied a light blue ribbon around it and printed our cinderella's castle address labels ( bought them at disney for about $3) with "And they lived Happily Ever After"

I wrapped those around the outside of the bubbles, and they look GREAT! Not to mention that they cost practically nothing. Way cheaper than Disney!

I'm going to assume that since your having confetti, I could have the silk petals. They're so much cheaper and there's no worries about stains or keeping them fresh. I am planning on getting silk ones, so I hope so!

I would check with your planner, as I'm sure I've read somewhere that Disney only allow bio-degradable 'stuff' to be thrown on property (like real petals, not silk)

That's what I was told as well. They had to be real flowers.
