flower show

Hi out there. I am taking my In-laws to the Flower Show the first of May. Is that a good time to take in the scenery? He is a retired rosarian (sp) and I told him how beautiful the flowers are. Any suggestions on what to see or where to get information?
I can't wait to go.

Did I whine lately how I am mising the Flower show by only a week??

Well, if'n I did - never-you-mind that. I decided to take the high road and BE HAPPY that I am JUST GOING to DisneyWORLD!!!!

kiwi - I am certain May will be a great time to take your in-laws. What a great person you are to do same. I am sure they will enjoy it immensely. There were some great threads last year and I just spent some time looking for them. Kiwi, I've been remiss, I haven't welcomed you yet to the F&GB. Consider yourself Welcomed!!

I'm sure you and your in-laws will have a fabulous time at the Flower & Garden festival. Disney, of course, does an awesome job!

Hi! I just found this forum and I think its great!!

I, too, am going to be at the F&GF beginning May 1. Its a great time to go--DH and I usually go that same week because it coincides with our wedding anniversary, so it's our gift to each other. We have only missed one year since we discovered the F&GF in 1996!

The Rose Walk is usually pretty glorious at this time, and I love attending the seminars. We barely leave Epcot during our whole visit!!

There is some information already available on the official WDW website, click the calendar, then special events and scroll down to see a link to a page for the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival. They list the special weekends, the concert schedule, and as the speakers and seminars are firmed up, they too will appear there. The first weekend of May is the Art in the Garden weekend, which is lovely, they have artists set up in each WS country and several other locations, they are working away and are usually happy to talk to guests. They also have tables selling their work, and there is an exhibit set up in Innoventions featuring the work of all the artists. One of the works that is painted that weekend is chosen to be the following year's poster art!

Look at me, just having arrived here and already rambling on I can't wait to get to WDW!

Welcome Duchess! Usually we go over Memorial weekend because our anniversary is June 1, but we decided to try the first weekend in May and hope for smaller crowds and nicer weather(not as hot, hopefully). We intend to go the concerts both days.

Beginning of May is definitely not as hot as the end of the month, nor is it as crowded. I speak from experience! IMHO, the first week of May is the Best Time to visit WDW.
