My wife and I were strolling around the World Show Case on Saturday evening, 6/3, when I heard the familiar "City of New Orlean's." A smile crept across my face as I realized we were approaching Arlo Guthrie performing at the American Pavillion. We settled in and listened to the rest of his 7 PM set. Arlo and his band finished the set with a long story about drug-sniffing dogs leading into "Coming into Los Angeles"...bringing in a couple of...well, you know the rest. Arlo's 8:15 PM set began with a long story leading into a 15 minute version of "Alice's Restaurant." Anyway, looking around at the crowd, most in their 50's and 60's, you couldn't help but notice the same passive smiles as they sang the all too familiar lyrics. It was 1969 all over again.

What an absolute blast!!! I wish you could find out early who's going to be performing when because I--seriously!--would base travel dates on it! Aside from Davy, I'd love to see Peter Noone from Herman's Hermits!
