Do most brides choose a dress for the flower girl and tell the mother about it or does the mother of the flower girl usually pick one out? Also, since they are so little and grow pretty quickly, how far in advance do you usually get the flower girl fitted and everything? Thanks!!! :bitelip:

I am picking out a couple of dresses and then I am going to let my flowergirls pick out which one they like. If they both have split decisions on the dresses ( 1 like one and the other like the other dress), then I will have my mom decide on which one she likes the best and that is what they will wear. I am having 2 flowergirls and they will be 10 for the wedding. I am going to hold off on getting their dresses until 2 months before the wedding- since they do grow.

I picked the flower girl dress, with my flower girl's mother's input (she was also the mother of 2 of my jr. bridesmaids). My Flower girl was fitted in the middle of January for my end of June wedding. We got the dress at David's Bridal, and the sales person was very helpful in determining what size to get all the girls.

I was going to pick the dress for my bridesmaid and flower girl! unfortunately their parents have now decided they would rather go somewhere else on holiday than come to our wedding so i wont actually have any lol.

i have worked at davids bridal for a little under 2 years now..

for FG, the bride usually comes with her mom, MOH, or by herself, picks out a few, then brings along the FG and her mom (or dad) to pick out which one she likes, fits her the best, etc. i would recommend ordering a FG dress around 5 months before the wedding, sooner if you go to a place like davids bridal where there is a lot of differnt styles and sizes actually in there store for her to try on. i would also recommend going a size or two up, because it can ALWAYS be altered down.

while i am not an expert, i do have a bit of dress ordering and picking out experience.. i would be happy to answer any other questions. i'm doing the wdw CP this spring, hoping to do an advanced internship in 07 in the wedding services. as stressful as it can be, i love it. (providing i dont have to tell a bride that we ordered them the wrong dress. or it got ripped in shipping. thats real bad. doesn't go over well lol) :earseek:

Well, in DH's large family, we were the 3rd wedding, with the same flower girls in all 3. DMIL has apparently paid for all of them, and selected for the first 2. I'm way too much of a control freak for that to happen. Unfortunately she picked the exact dress I would have wanted for the wedding preceeding mine by 5mos. So I started an endless search...and ended up at Dillards. I found some that were on clearance and were GORGEOUS so I called for sizes and we bought them then. No input from the parents of the girls on any of those 3 weddings. Not even on shoes for two of them-their mom called me and I told her what I wanted (she knew there were shoes at Target that I liked) and she bought their little white ballerina shoes there. They were adorable!!

ballerina shoes are soo cute! i really wish i had a flower girl/bridesmaid now lol.
