My family and I are booked for a 7-day cruise starting Nov 6th! Yay!! I have a 10-month-old and was hoping to reserve some time in Flounder's Reef each night so that I can have a fun dinner with the grown-ups.

BUT in the "Passport to Magic" booklet I received it says that:

"Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis, based on sitter availability. In order to accomodate as many families as possible, we may limit the number of multiple requests per family."

!!!

Reading this it seems to me that they won't let me put him in there for 2-3 hours each night. Do they REALLY bump people and ration out the availability or did they just print that to cover their rears?

Has anyone had trouble with availability at Flounder's Reef?

Thanks!

It's probably more an issue during the peak season, than in early November. If I remember correctly we were able to book 3 time slots at first, but we never had any problems with calling them and reserving more. We went in June of last year.

I really don't think you'll have a problem.

Have a great time!

you can book 3 spots upon boarding, but then will have to go on a waitlist. We were called for every waitlist that we asked for .You'll love Flounders, they are wonderful there!

I would suggest getting there as soon as possible to reserve your slots, just in case. On both of our cruises I was the first one at Flounders.

We are on the same cruise:Pinkbounc and will have a 15 month old DS we are hoping to get in there. I would suggest before you leave figuring out your top 3 dates and times you want to reserve. There is a 2 hour minimum and you have to pay for the time you reserve even if you pick up your child after one hour- you will be charged for whatever you signed up for. I am hoping that my son will love it but he is not in daycare or anything so I'm not sure how he will do. Good Luck and we'll see you there!:sunny:

We just got back from the 10/9 cruise. On the 1st day I signed up for a 2 hour time slot everyday from Sun to Friday. I put a star next to the 3 days I wanted most. I was able to get everyday that I wanted.....I canceled one of the days later and also added an hour to Thursday night. I had no problems. :O) I would advise signing up for as many days as possible then canceling later if your child doesn't like it. BTW-My 20 month really liked flounders......and she isn't in daycare normally...I am a SAHM.

Serena6010 congrats on being a SAHM. I am too basically. My son can come to work with me on days that I have to be there and then I work out of the house when he naps. Anysways it is good to know that your child was comfortable at the Nursery. I hope mine is too. Thanks for your input.

is there a maximum time limit. I know that sounds horrible, but we were thinking of a 5 hour day sail in st john that we thought DD (1 yo) would be too young to enjoyl. I dont want to book the excursion if the nursery limits you.

I am not sure of a limit, but if your child is not having fun, i.e. if they are crying for an extended period of time, they will beep you to pick him/her up. I am not sure how that would work if you were beeped and didn't show up for 5 hours.
