I was told that we can not bring our own flotation products to Blizzard beach and Typhon Lagoon, however, can you have them at the resort pools? We are traveling with a 9 year old and a 14 month old and the 14 month old loves the water but does not quite understand the danger. All info would be appreciated. We are staying at the French Quarter. Thank you

there are floation at the resort - no charge to use them.

but I don't think the life guard will send children away who are using their own.

your kids will love that pool. Don't expect to do alot of other stuff besides that pool.

My niece wouldn't leave the pool - even to go see Pooh (her favorite).

FWIW, I got around all that "flotation device allowed/flotation device not allowed" confusion at SAB last year by bringing my child's suit that has the flotation part built into the fabric. For a 14 month old, my favorite was the ring that you pump up around the middle--it helps keep them upright in the water. When they learn the basics of swimming better, we used the suit with the float blocks built in. HTH

My DS wore arm floaties at Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon in June, and nothing was ever said to us about them not being allowed. You may need something more than arm floaties for a 14 month old, however...

I seem to remember seeing kids in their own life preservers. You can get life preservers at the resorts and water parks too.

tlkelly-we're staying at POFQ too! My DD6 uses the life vests provided by the resort. This year she'll probably swim on her own for the most part but I'll have her use the vest when I need a break!LOL The first time she used one at the AKL she really resisted-but after about 1 minute she absoluetely loved it! All the resorts and water parks have life vests (for free). On this trip she will have the vest on the entire time at the water parks. On our last trips to the water parks I was surprised at how many parents didn't know you could use the vests for free.

Your kids are going to love the dragon slide at POFQ! It's the reason we're staying there again. It was my daughters second choice (after AKL of course). When are you going to be there? Maybe we'll see you-we'll be there Sept. 18-24th.

5 days til Florida and 8 days til WDW!!!!!!!!! :grouphug:

i plan to bring my sons life jacket for the hotel, but why cant he bring it to Blizzard beach? Or can he?

I honestly dont know for certain if you can bring your own life jackets to BB or TL but I can say for certain that they have them at both parks, they are the foam kind that clip on the front & has a strap between the legs. I am 99.9% sure they are also free of charge while in the water parks.

As a lifeguard at Typhoon Lagoon, I can tell you that life jackets are provided free of charge at the park for our guests.

Also, any swimsuit with built in floatation devices and personal life jackets are permitted.

Water wings are tolerated although strongly discouraged especially if you plan to use the wave pool.

"My Baby Floats" are permitted in certain areas as long as an adult is physically holding on to the float at all times that the child is in it.

Inflatable rings, kickboards, noodles etc are not allowed in the parks.

Unless you go on a Wednesday or Thursday in June , July or August (Our busiest days) they do have plenty to go around.

Mitch- we are going to TL and BB the first week in March. How crazt are the waterparks at this time and is there a slow day to go? My husband loves the waterparks and we have to spend at least two days there.
Thanks,
Tara :sunny:

March is still slow season for the waterparks. Pretty much it's only the Britsh there that time of year. You'll have no wait at TL on anything except the family raft ride and that will be a 10 minute wait at the worst. BB's capacity is all in lines instead of the wave pool like TL so you may have as much as a 15-20 minute wait at worst on 3 or 4 of the attractions.
