Flossers unite!

So I was at the dentist earlier this week and after getting a bit of a lecture from the dental hygienist, I have decided to recommit to flossing! I have always been kind of an on again/off again flosser which I suppose is better than nothing but I really want to get into the habit of flossing daily!

I have a container of floss by my bed along with my hand lotion and the book I'm reading right now (which happens to be Best Friends Forever by Jennifer Weiner;)) so I will remember to floss as part of my nightly bedtime routine.

Anyone else with me? I know it's a lot easier to start a new habit when you have someone to be accountable to so hopefully there are some other DISers out there who are wanting to hop on the flossing bandwagon. I've heard that it takes 21 days to form a new habit (don't know how true that is!) so I am going to commit to flossing every day for at least 21 days. With any luck the habit will catch on and I'll be a daily flosser for life!:woohoo::cheer2:

I'm with you! It's funny because I went to the dentist earlier this month and also got the lecture on flossing so I started. I've been doing it for 2 weeks. I actually heard it takes 6 months to make a habit (although I don't know how true that is).

Woo hoo!!! So nice to see all you guys joining in.:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

I am going to go floss RIGHT NOW because I haven't yet today. I cannot miss a day because I reaallly want my shopping trip at the end of the month. I am in love with my Crest floss... Clear Glide, I think? I've never tried it before and it is so much easier than the thread-y floss I used to use. I felt like the other kind got caught on my teeth and the feeling made my stomach turn!

Okay. Off to go floss now! I'm so glad this thread got bumped up otherwise I might have forgotten!

Who's still flossing?? I am! I haven't missed a day since August :goodvibes:

First time poster on this thread.

I just returned from the dentist about 1 hour ago. First visit in over 10 YEARS!

Had a Panoramic Film taken, Comprehensive Oral Evaluation and Gross Debridement-Cleaning.

Besides the 3 crowns I should have because those teeth have been broken for 10 years the only other suggestion was Bleaching. No major issues because of FLOSSING and SONICARE usage.

I floss at least TWICE/day and some times more. Before brushing and after brushing many times. I then finish with a mouthwash.

The only thing that was suggested to me to improve my procedure a little was to put some toothpaste ON the dental floss before flossing as this will help clean a little better.

Keep that FLOSS moving. :thumbsup2

I floss religiously, everyday. And I also keep my floss right beside the bed on the nightstand. I floss every night while watching tv before falling asleep. Ever since I started flossing everyday, my dental check-ups have been great.
