My Mum and Fiance are going to get married in Orlando in 2013, they have looked at the main disney weddings on offer and they look amazing but also have a price tag to match.
They have also looked at The Swan and Dolphin Hotel at DTD.
They are going to Orlando in March to check out some places and book some things but I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations re, hotels etc to get married at.
Also if there is anyone on here who has got married there who has any tips etc.
Thanks :)

Congratulations to them.

Not sure if you have seen but there is a section on the main DIS board for weddings.

I didn't get married in Florida but there are a few disney brides here - hope they see this and can help.

I've read of people getting married at cypress gardens and royal wedding chapel I drive - they would be less expensive than disney.

We got married in Disney and it was perfect, Disney weddings can be cheaper if you go for the smaller packages, go to Francis near the grand Floridian and view what they have

Cypress grove is very very nice!! have a look on their website :thumbsup2

Another one for cypress grove I got married almost 8 and a half years ago in cypress grove it was so beautiful mine was outdoors and had a wonderful day  our plan is to go back and renew our vows for our 10th anniversary and it does not cost a lot for the package :) here is a website that will give you and idea of prices and places to hold a wedding :)

I also got married at Disney and it was AMAZING! It is pricey, but there are ways to bring the cost down so dont be put off straight away.

I also looked into the Celebration hotel, the prices there are very reasonable and the setting is just perfect. Well worth a quick look!

We were over there a few weeks ago and went jetskiing at this place

They were setting up for a wedding in the afternoon and it looked an idyllic location - almost like a tropical beach and nicer than the pictures make it look.

It didn't look as thought it would be too pricy either.

I remember thinking it looked a fabulous place to get married.

Another Disney bride here. Yes it was pricey but I can't imagine a better wedding ever!

And they can be done on a budget - especially with a small guest count. So don't rule it out. :)

Another Disney bride here - we kept most things to a minimum and had a wonderful time on a low budget :)

Hi
We just had our 're-wedding' (VR) at the Swan in May. It was everything we dreamed it would be and we had far more choice about different elements than we would have by going through DFTW. Swan weddings are still right there at WDW, offer far more choice and flexibility and are half the price!!!
We had our ceremony at the Swan, our reception dinner at the Grand Floridian, and had photos done at the Swan, Boardwalk, Bay Lake Tower and Grand Floridian. I felt like I missed out on nothing at all!!!
I highly recommend Karen and the team from 'JustMarry' who co-ordinate the Swan weddings. Karen was brilliant from start to finish and was always quick to answer e-mails (which IMHO is essential when you are planning a ceremony in Florida from UK)
Please feel free to check out my PJ/TR (link in my signature) and don't hesitate to ask if you need any more help.
Congrats to your Mum, good luck and happy planning!!!

PS The Swan and Dolphin aren't in DTD - they are in the Boardwalk/Epcot area. DTD also stage weddings at Fulton's and on the 'Characters in flight' tethered balloon (weather permitting I assume)
