WOW, What a beautiful day to be outside! We picked up lots of info, can't say I learned anything new. But it was nice! Lots of pens, candy and freebies for the kids. Got to see a gator and the kids entered the contest. Chat soon! S

Do you know who won the costume contest? We were there at about 10 am and left before the contest started. We were wondering who won. We seen a girl dressed up like Cindy Lou Who from the Grinch, and we thought she should win.

We left before the winners were announced. My kids dressed in costumes they picked for fun ~ I knew they wouldn't win. We bought our kids 'prizes' for entering. YEAH that Cindy Lou Who was great. I'll bet she won. Also great were the 4 kids together as Cinderella and friends with the REAL coach and Shiek with the REAL donkey! It was fun! S

Sorry we missed you Sandra, we didn't get there until about 12:45 as we had to make a stop in Kitchener. My sister and BIL showed up around 1:30.

The Cinderella group won first prize and I didn't see who won the next prizes as they did those separately. I was amazed at the work that went into the winner's entry. It looked like they had turned a rickshaw into the coach, adding white horses along the pulling handles and the prince was an adorable red-headed toddler and Cinderella was probably his "older sister"! Very cute! I saw a baby dressed up as Dumbo and he rode around in a "cage" built from a wagon that was so cute, too.

I got enough reading material to last me a while and collected lots of freebies like pens, magnets, frizbies etc. I entered all the draws I came across so maybe I'll win something. My 8yo nephew had his picture taken with the alligator which was clearly the biggest hit of the day for him.!

The crowds cleared out after the costume contest and at one point I sat down in a chair, closed my eyes, sipped on my free strawberry dacquiri, listened to the steel drum band and pretended I was sitting by the pool at some resort. Then Dh burst into my dream and it was time to go as we were all going out for dinner together. All in all it was a fun day.

We just missed you! WOW, I thought the Cindy Lou Who would have won first prize!

We go there before the crowds. We got to pick up lots of info and candy LOL. When we finished walking around the brochure tent, we noticed huge lines to get in. We sat on the grass, and like you Julie, enjoyed our iced drinks and chocolate bars from one of the booths. My kids loved the gator too. I got several pictures of the kids with Shamu. No one was ever around poor Shamu! Pix with the Cat in the Hat too. The permanent building with the TA's had free yummy OJ and a Disney Vacation video playing, so that was nice! I loved the steel drum band too! I was back at CBR ((((((sigh)))))).

Can't wait until next week and get my WDW fix with you all! I'll have to make sure the upper level is open at Shell Info centre. We stopped off at the McDonalds on the 401, just east of Townline ~ that would be a great DISmeet! Chat soon! S

Guess what, don't feel too bad about Cindy Lou not winning.
Her parents are taking her to FLA in February for her Birthday.
I was sitting at their table. The second prize wasn't picked up so they drew another number, #123. DD had #7. What a zoo it was but what a great place to have. I booked the Crowne Plaza for the Easter Long Weekend! They gave me the rate that they were quoting even though it was during a blackout date. I could not resist! Now all I have to do is wait for a great flight rate!

I tried looking for DIS'ers but there were just too many people.
My DD was dressed up as Broom-Hilda! She had fun and got a lot of great information! By the way the OJ was bought in Buffalo! It was nice thinking it was brought up from FLA though. LOL.

Sorry I didn't get to meet any of you but maybe in Niagara Falls!

Hi Scratch, I kind of figured that the second prize wasn't picked up. We were in the tent when the first prize winner was voted on and then they drew #21 for the second prize. We never saw anyone go up and left the tent and went outside to see the Cinderella coach etc. Next thing we knew everyone headed into the other tent and we heard the number #123 called. As you said it was a zoo and we weren't really sure what was going on at the time. I didn't get any phone calls late this afternoon, so I guess I didn't win anything from all the draws I entered. I looked for your Mickey purse, but unfortunately there were just too many people. Congratulations for getting the great rate at the Crown Plaza!

Julie ~ are you doing the night owl thing again? ME TOO! LOL!

My kids were #78 and #79 ~ ANOTHER Cinderella (dd) and BAM BAM (ds)! ds (BAM BAM) got a "cutey" sigh from the audience.

Chat soon! S

LOL Sandra! Just thought I'd read some of messages here but I have no intention of staying up til 3am again!

I can just imagine your ds as BAM BAM, that WOULD be so cute! I think the numbers went up to around 300 kids entered in the contest!!!

Hi Folks:

We fully intended to go but hubby had to go into work to make some extra bucks for xmas, I really stewed about missing some good stuff and information and maybe some deals. Glad everyone else had a great time though.

Yours,

Deb.

We went on Sat as well. Like most of you, I didn't really learn anything new but it was fun. We were there by 9:15 am and there were hardly any people there. It was also quite chilly at that time of the day. I was disappointed that the Disney and Discovery Cove reps weren't reps at all but travel agents from the agency. They knew nothing about either park. The Disney woman was adament that EE entry was not coming back and had never heard about the rumours. I enjoyed picking up all the "stuff" and the biggest hit in my house was the popcorn on the cob. Quite tastey!!! See you all on Sunday. Kathy

Hi, the Disney lady I talked to had been to WDW 22 times! WOW! Her fav resorts are Poly and WL. She gave me great tips about the resorts. See you Sunday! S (PS: I am still crossing my figures that the upstair of the Shell Info Centre will be open!!!!!!) YIKES!
