Going to get seasonal passes instead of annual since they are almost half the price.....around $350 seasonal vs.$650 annual. We never go in the summer so this should work out better for us. Now I know the difference between the 2 is pretty much free parking. Do seasonal pass holders get the hotel, food and merchandise discounts annual pass holders get. Any other reasons why I should not opt for annual if we only go during the winter.

To get a seasonal pass, you need to be a Florida resident. If you are a Florida Resident, the AP price is $529 and NOT $650.

I believe discounts are otherwise the same.

The difference is no blackout dates (so in winter this would be all of Christmas for around the week before through the weekend after New Year's : this year is Dec 17-Jan 1, 2016) and free parking which would otherwise be $17/day at the current rate.

I am a season pass holder. I get discounts on food, hotels and the other perks. You are right parking and summer are not included. There are blockout dates but they are during times we won't go. We love ours. :)

SAP holder here too! I live far enough away (about 2 hours) that I always spend the night at a WDW Resort, so I get free parking anyway.

I get the same discounts on rooms and merchandise. I have a TIW Card, but I have also occasionally gotten the DDP added to an AP Room only reservation.

I have no interest in fighting the Christmas or Easter crowds. And summer is too hot in the parks for me. I have been known to book a resort only or Fort Wilderness stay in the summer without setting foot in the parks.

We are only about 2.5 south of Disney so it's no big deal for us to go for a short weekend. We won't dare step into the parks during the summer or the holidays which is when the blackout dates are. Way too hot for us and too many people. We go to the keys during the summer for getaways instead.

How do you like wilderness lodge. We are going to stay at wilderness cabins which I think is next door.

Then a seasonal pass will be perfect. Husband and I just have it for the free parking. Kids have Seasonal. (We did both if us so either could take the kids solo and not worry about parking.)

We would only need the seasonal pass. If we don't stay onsite, then we would stay at Gaylord which has free shuttle service to the parks.

I have an annual pass for the free parking, but DH and DS both have the seasonal. None of us are interested in going during the black out dates.

We like the combination of the seasonal pass + water park annual pass. We can still get our Disney fun in during the summer at the water parks. :)
