Florida schools?

Does anyone know when Florida schools reopen?
Also do you think I should plan my August trip around that?

Since each FL county(maybe even some cities)has its own schoold district different school systems will have different start dates. Add to that schools in south GA and the number of dates is to hard to plan around. Plus, just because they may be back to school doesn't mean they won't be there on the weekend.

It's variable, however, it will be no earlier than two weeks before Labor Day.

On the draft version of our 2007-08 calendar, schools are set to open to students on August 22nd. I believe the earliest they can start is August 20th due to a new state regulation going into affect.

I would definitely try to go after schools restart, and also keep in mind that the blackout dates for the FL resident seasonal pass lift on Aug 16th, so I would expect those days (Aug 16 - 20) to be busy with residents. I'll be there too if I can figure out how to skip a family function!

I have a feeling you are correct. We start on the 20th. This school year, we started on the 8th. We will get out on the 24th of May this year & next year we will get out on June 6th YUK! I am going to miss my nice 2 weeks before my seasonal starts on the blackouts...
