Can anyone tell me when Florida schools are re-opening in August 2006.

The exact date changes every year, but it's usually the first week of August school starts again.

There's a debate underway right now in the Florida Legislature about this.
Due to recent August Hurricanes, lawmakers are thinking about making it mandatory to start school no sooner than a week before Labor Day.

Broward County is not sure yet and will not decide until February. They may start August 7th or maybe not until the end of August, they will vote next month.

OMG. I certainly hope not. I really do understand about the trouble with hurricanes but I was looking forward to going when schools were back in session.
