Florida resident tickets

My mother-in-law lives with us pretty much 1/2 the year. She doesn't have any bills ( or any of the other items you can use to verify your residency) in her name because it's our house. Her license is from the other state she lives in. If I bought a Florida resident ticket for her do you think it will be a problem? She's retired now so we buy her ticket ( I was just thinking I could actually benefit from her being here all the time) I never would have thought to do this when she bought her own ticket and lived in another state.
Has anybody been stopped at the gate to show proof of Florida residency? (My Florida residency is verified and associated with my MDE account so I would assume the ticket would not need to be verified at guest relations before use but correct me if I'm wrong).

I think you will have to stop at GS at gate to show ID (to verify). Or she can show some piece of mail with your address and her name.

I bought a resident ticket for someone else and had to go GS to verify residency because I assigned the ticket to someone who wasn’t verified online

or you could put a utility bill in her name using the Florida residence

She would need to have something to prove she is eligible from the list of items they allow.

Unfortunately it doesn’t sound like she has any of those documents.

The last time I checked the site said a government issue picture ID and something else to show proof of in state address (like utility bill) needs to be shown before use.

I do t think k you need a government ID to show FL address because those that have second homes are now eligible as long as they have one of the others.

I know people who have had no issue.

One of the items:

• Current Utility bill (power / phone / cable / water)

Does she have a cell phone in her name?

Mail

• Mail from financial institutions, including checking, savings or investment account statements
• Mail from federal, state, county or city government agencies

Have a bank account in her name?

Does she have a credit card that she uses your home address for? This is from the Disney website:

So anyone who visits Florida often should get resident privileges? Even if it’s only 1/2 year, they are still visitors.

I hate to see this abused, as I would hate to see it abolished for true residents.

Disney changed the rules though for those that may not be there full time.

It’s why they accept things other than a state issued FL ID.

As I said, I know people who own a second home and have gotten the FL resident tickets with no problem by showing the appropriate bills.

PATRIOT Act made it so you can only et one DL/ID. There are a lot of people who live in multiple places.
