They look exactly like an AP, and yes, you do have to use the scanner. Actually, everybody has to use the scanners now - that happened when they switched over to the MYW tickets.
Next set of dates starts April 8 I believe for about 2-3 weeks. Then about June 10 through mid-August and finally around December 18-first part of January next year. Sorry I can't be exact, but at least it's a start. I'm sure someone here has the exact dates and will post them very soon.
And they still have the buy 2 get one free deal year round now...it's about 149.00 for the hopper and 127.00 without hopping after tax. If you visit during a block out date, he can always buy that pass and use the dollar value of it to upgrade to the seasonal pass within 6 months as long as there is still a day on it.

No. When you purchase a Florida Seasonal Pass or Annual Pass, you get a voucher in the mail. You have to show proof of residency when you exchange the voucher for a pass at WDW.

No she can't as the passes are for Florida residents only and you and your kids are not Florida residents. Even if you buy them on line you will only get a voucher and will have to pick them up at one of the parks. You will have to show Florida ID at that time and you won't have it so they wouldn't activate the passes for you.
