Florida Resident AP renewal. Voucher?

DH & I have been pass holders for 4 years now, and every year on renewal we receive an email with an e-certificate/voucher which we must go to guest services and redeem on our first visit post renewal (show FL resident ID, etc). We randomly decided to go to MK on Sunday and I went to my email to print the voucher and noticed that this time there wasn't one, just a receipt and the following message

"CONGRATULATIONS! You have successfully renewed your Pass(es) and may continue to use your current MagicBand or Card for park entry and future resort stays. You are also eligible to customize a new MagicBand by visiting your My Disney Experiance app"

Now, I'm assuming we no longer have to go to guest services and our previous AP bands will work but I had to ask for the sake of my sanity. It would be amazing to not have to wait at guest services!!

Thanks in advance!

if you are there you could always stop by if they are not busy and just ask or if it dose not let you in on your first day you know you need to wait in that very long line and show your FL ID

If your AP has a merchandise discount benefit or free parking included (not sure if all the FL resident passes include that), you do have to either order new pass holder bands to get the discount/parking card that is included or stop by guest relations at Disney Springs or at the parks to get your new AP discount/passholder card. The magic band alone is not enough to get the discount at least according to our experience in Dec. We stopped at guest relations and they scanned our bands and gave us our new AP discount card.

That's what I was told by cm in June when I renewed too. But I asked for an actual card as well. The card is still needed for discounts and parking. Your renewal though should be linked to both your mb and your old ticket.

I agree, the email is unclear. We renewed our resident annual passes in December and went to TTC ticket window to activate them at the beginning of February. We were given new Passholder cards. Wish they had said that we didn't have to activate them but they didn't and unfortunately the process did not go smoothly. It took about 30 minutes because they were not able to find my pass renewal but easily found my husbands, which is bizarre, because ours were both done at the same time by me and my credit card. Also, after leaving the ticket window, I found that my husband was given the plastic card that says "Passholder" and mine is just a plain character card, so if we want any Passholder discounts, he has the only card.

Anyhow, not trying to scare you, but yes, as far as I know, they still have to be "activated" either at guest services or a ticket sales window. Do make sure that when they give you the plastic card, it says "Passholder" on the front.

I certainly wish Disney was more clear with their communication.

Same thing happened to me last October. They couldn't find my renewal, but found my AP from 2 years ago and my daughters from the previous year. The CM said that I dont really have a current AP to renew even though I produced the renewal email and my current AP card. :sad2: It took at least 30 minutes in this case as well before she was able to get me my renewed pass. Then, she put the wrong anniversary date on it (11 months out), so I had to call and stay on the phone for an hour to get them to fix my anniversary date.

They can scan any active MagicBand or RFID Card linked to your MDE profile to determine if you are eligible for free parking.

The only places that have ever scanned our bands are the front gates to the resorts. Theme parks have asked to see card and even ID on occasion.

Next time we go to a park I'll offer my mb for parking and see how that goes.

For doing the wine glass thing during F&W it was hit or miss. Most wanted card with ID. A few took MB with slider and ID.

The poster giveaway during SWW was fine with mb and slider.

I bring everything, AP, discount card, mb. Better to be safe than sorry. Ds' new AP didn't come with a separate discount card in October.
