I could answer for the State of Maryland, but you would like the answers.
There is not a set amount of hours before a break -- a break is not mandatory.
Overtime only comes after working over 40 hours in a week for non-exempt
There is no requirement for days off or to have days off after working so many days. There is no legal requirement to provide any sick leave.

Most of these things come as a result of being in a union -- I know lots of union workers that get these benefits. Heck, in the State of Maryland, they aren't even required to give you a lunch break.

I think the only thing required is time and a half after 40 hours, other than that - no requirements. Though, if a business required their employees to work 7 days a week, without break or days off or vacations, I'm sure they'd have a tough time finding employees.

I know in PA, a 30 minute lunch is required for non-exempt. In my office they are strict that non-exempt must take a minimum 30 minute lunch break with no work performed, unpaid (optional up to 60 minutes). They recently clamped down on it so there must have been an issue with people working while they were eating lunch at their desk since it's unpaid.

i work at a retail store in FL and we have to take our 30 min lunch before the 6th hour. In CT we had to take it before the 5th hour. I dont know if it depends on the type of work. We dont get sick time
