We've been thinking about getting a small condo but that will have to be in a not trendy/expensive area. I need to be near the beach. We like Vero Beach, Naples area also some parts of Tampa/St. Pete but I'm not familiar enough with the state to know where for sure yet. All we know is we want to be coastal yet have the parks be an easy day trip. It is ok if it takes a couple of hours. I really want a place where we can spend vacations, and chunks of summer/holidays and perhaps someday retire too if we wish, or we will become true snowbirds.

Great suggestions, Florida Dreamers. Yes, the jolt of arriving in a cold climate after a warm vacation in Florida certainly does make me want to stay on the plane for a return trip! I haven't seen Naples, but I have visited Vero Beach and Melbourne Beach..both very beautiful and as many of you said, not too far away from Disney!
