So my one goal in Boca was to try 'Due South.' We drove up to Boynton to check out their brewery. We were greeted by a mountain of cans. They were in full production in the 95 degree heat. We tried tasting out in the heat, but eventually wound up in the a/c tasting room. Great atmosphere either way.
We had the Saigon blonde which has cucumber, lime and jalapeño flavors. I was shocked by how good it was. If you have a chance, try this. You won't be disappointed.
Next up was the Belgian triple. I'm not a huge Belgian guy, but it was good if you you like Belgian beers.
We also had a couple other fire beers..the Pico Durante and the Mexican Standoff. I must say I was impressed. The folks at 'Due South' know what's up. They have great flavors mixed in with quality beer. Some of the beers I had in Key West had flavor, but were watery. These were awesome. Sadly, they don't distribute outside of Florida. But...it gives me another reason to look forward to seeing my family.
We tried WOB but it didn't open til 3 so we had lunch across the way at Red Rock. The chicken was great, the Red ale stunk. Disappointed in the beer, I used Untapped to locate more Due South. We stopped at Tucker Duke's lunchbox....we should have gone there for lunch. 12+ taps plus bottles of all local beer and locally grown food. Go here! We finished with a Due South mexican standoff, but could've had Funky Buddha, Miami Brewing, or Cigar City. A great selection.
So when in South Florida hit 'Due South' at exit 59/60 on Rte 95 and Tucker Duke's around exit 42.
Later on...WOB in Sarasota.
Cheers!
