Florida beers

Sounds good! I like the Bells Two Heart Ale because it reminds me of Doctor Who. :-)

Is the Blue Point IPA by the same makers as the lager? That's my favorite.

Here in Sarasota there is a fun little sushi place called Kazu's 2.0 that has lots of fun beers. That's the first place I had the Bells.

Two Hearted is a go-to of mine. Bells is a great brewery and their staff is amazing. (Worked with them). Great Lakes is another- their Burning river- many a poker hand lost while drinking that!
Love the recommendations. Writing down your recommendations in my "to travel to" notebook. Someday in the next 10 years, we'll make it down to the keys.

So my one goal in Boca was to try 'Due South.' We drove up to Boynton to check out their brewery. We were greeted by a mountain of cans. They were in full production in the 95 degree heat. We tried tasting out in the heat, but eventually wound up in the a/c tasting room. Great atmosphere either way.
We had the Saigon blonde which has cucumber, lime and jalapeño flavors. I was shocked by how good it was. If you have a chance, try this. You won't be disappointed.
Next up was the Belgian triple. I'm not a huge Belgian guy, but it was good if you you like Belgian beers.
We also had a couple other fire beers..the Pico Durante and the Mexican Standoff. I must say I was impressed. The folks at 'Due South' know what's up. They have great flavors mixed in with quality beer. Some of the beers I had in Key West had flavor, but were watery. These were awesome. Sadly, they don't distribute outside of Florida. But...it gives me another reason to look forward to seeing my family.
We tried WOB but it didn't open til 3 so we had lunch across the way at Red Rock. The chicken was great, the Red ale stunk. Disappointed in the beer, I used Untapped to locate more Due South. We stopped at Tucker Duke's lunchbox....we should have gone there for lunch. 12+ taps plus bottles of all local beer and locally grown food. Go here! We finished with a Due South mexican standoff, but could've had Funky Buddha, Miami Brewing, or Cigar City. A great selection.
So when in South Florida hit 'Due South' at exit 59/60 on Rte 95 and Tucker Duke's around exit 42.
Later on...WOB in Sarasota.
Cheers!

Sarasota...well, I didn't feel like I was closer to Cigar City here. The WOB here is just ok. The bartenders were solid, but the waitress were not as impressive as the waitresses at the WOB in Orlando.
I tried a few local beers that in truth are not worth mentioning. The worst is that my receipt didn't match my order. When I questioned the waitress she couldn't tell me why, nor could she tell me what I ordered. Not good.
Today I ran up to Big Top Brewery. They are getting up and going. A little light, but moving in the right direction. I tried the Blonde, the Amber, the Brown and the IPA. I think the IPA is probably the best. It is a little light, but local.
I did have one interesting moment. ..Big Top has a Key Lime Wheat. I thought I'd find it in Key West, but it is here in Sarasota. Not terrible either.
Tomorrow. ...CIGAR CITY!!!!
