I was wandering if any future or past Epcot brides could please help me out with a query?

Its my understanding that disney does not allow outside florists in the parks, but can you use outside floral if you set them up or pay disney a fee to do it for you?

Thanks :)

Gabby

To my knowledge no, because even your favors you have to give to disney. You can bring silk flowers and give to the catering department (who will be setting the table and can put up to 3 things a placesetting at no additional cost). But real flowers need to be arrange for full effect and wdw does not want to be blamed if flowers were not set up right. But do it yourself centerpieces are ok.

Ty Sarah for the info :)

Sorry i should have been more specific, its actually the floral for the wedding ceremony at 1 of the Epcot pavilions i was concerned with.

All i really want was some rose petals scattered down each side of the aisle, some more petals for the rose petal toss & a unity arrangement.

As im already looking at Charming events for my bouquet, bridesmaids flowers, bouts & rose petals for the centerpieces at Ariels, it just seemed more sense if they can do the whole lot, even if we have to set it up or pay disney for it.

We also intend on bringing our own custom aisle runner. Will disney let us set this up?

Gabby, I am having an Epcot wedding as well. No they could not do the set for the wedding ceremony. Charming Events can do your reception and your personal flowers if you would like. Because I am having 2 out of my 3 events in Epcot, I went with Disney Floral and have been very happy. They are very price competitive for what I wanted. Disney Floral will also help you keep down your costs and find a way to get your numbers where you want to be.

JonetteA - thanks for the heads up on Disney floral pricing... I have been concerned about that... we are using Whimsical Wey for our ceremony flowers at Sea Breeze Pointe but we were told we have to use Disney floral for our Living Seas reception... I am willing to compromise but I don't want to settle for anything... I am glad to hear you consider them to be competitive with pricing and you're probably the first bride I've heard say they are willing to work with you to keep the numbers down... :teeth:

Keep in mind this doesn't mean that I got everything that I wanted. I am also reusing arrangements multiple times. The way I got away with that is by using Disney floral. The other thing I did is made some of my own items to "plus" the event. I did not rent that many items from Disney Floral. Just the coach and a hurricane shade for the ceremony, ohh and the covered chairs for Epcot (I couldn't do the plastic free ones).

These are what is going to sit on the table.

I made 56 or so of them for about $140 and then bought my own mind julep cups for about $7 a piece and had them shipped to Disney to use.

I think the reason, and I did price around, I went with Disney is that they could get the multitude of different types of flowers/colors I wanted the cheapest( I am using 2 or 3 different colors of roses, calla lilies, and hydrangeas). I also went with what was in season! I think it was cheaper b/c they order in bulk, not just for one event at a time. This is supposition on my end though.

When you guys see the pictures you will notice the flowers used at the rehearsal dinner moved to the reception and were changed up a bit. The wrapped cylinders and mint julep cups went to the dessert party. That is the bonus of using Disney Floral it gave me more "bang" for my buck.

Make sure to be honest with your Floral person when you meet with them the first time. Your first proposal will be a "wish" type list and you will go into shock. Meet with them and see what you can do to make it the same feel and more manageable. I found that they were more than willing to work with me and come up with ideas. Laura has be fabulous, and I just trust her to make it right.

JonetteA - how did you make those? Did those glasses come like that or did you cover them? If you did, what did you cover them with? And did you hot glue the ribbons to them? Those are beautiful and would work well... when did you ship them to Disney? Is there a certain time frame they want them there in? Not too early? We are looking into candlabras for the Living Seas reception, but those could add a nice touch to the cake table and place cards... also for our dessert party... hmmmmmmm.... :scratchin

I took 3 different sizes of glass cylinders. I wrapped them with velumn and stuck it with double stick tape. The cylinders probably cost me 1-1.75 a piece. The velumn just depended. I would say to wait for a sale on scrapbook paper. I couldn't wait. I tied it with .50 blue ribbon on a spool from Michaels, and then I put a ribbon enclosure over the top of the knot. That was the most expensive part. I got them from print icon in NYC and they are like 7.20 for 25 I think. Those enclosures come in gold and silver.

All in all, I came out pretty good. My dad and Kathy are driving them so I don't have to worry about shipping it.
