Anyone been affected by the flooding??
we have been ok here.
the pictures and stories on the news have been awful, alot of people with flooded homes in Birmingham and Sheffield

we have just had a massive thunderstorm !!! those news pictures are awful, i would be gutted if it was my house :sad2:

we've not had anything here yet, but they have just issued a severe weather warning

Our local radio station here in Birmingham just said that 40 people are stranded in a factory as the whole of the bottome floor is flooded, they were talking to one of the guys who was there and he said that there are cars in the car park and you can't see the rooves on them!! :scared1:
I was going to go to Asda which is right by where this factory is and all of a sudden I have changed my mind!

We are currently in the throws of another storm now and the shop lights are flashing! :scared1:

Nothing here thankfully - looks like the wet weather is set to continue though :(

Nothing here in Glasgow apparently we are going to get the best of the weather. Will make a nice change:)

The floods reminded me of Hurricane Charlie in Florida. Our first experience of a Hurricane. We probably had the same amount of rain but obviously without the high winds.

Weathermen state we have had a Months rain in a day. Many of our local schools were closed today. There are still many roads closed. We are in Kirkella East Yorkshire.

No, its lovely here. Where is the flooding?

Well i swam home....ambulances everywhere, traffic mad apparently.

the showers have been really heavt here but its dried up almost completely in between, its still really hot and stuffy, really humid

I went out earlier today and saw two ducks walking up my street ..... :rotfl: don't know where they had come from but with all the rain they aren't short on water to splash around in. We had a really bad thunderstorm this afternoon and think we had a lightning strike on the field opposite our house. There was a bright orange lightning flash then a huge cracking noise that sounded like a big explosion. The whole of our house shook :scared1:

we have a cloudy day here with a tiny glimse of sunshine, but to night/tomorrow its supposed to be heavy rain again for a lot of the country

We went into Newark today and had to stop the car on the way home as the rain was so heavy we could not see a thing - worse than Florida storms! Don't expect all that forked lightening over here with torrential rain!

Well i swam home....ambulances everywhere, traffic mad apparently.

We have had a few flooded areas by us. One road in Kingswinford they were all out in their wellies trying to sweep the water out of their homes another down the road where the firemen were trying to pump the water away. On the way home from work DH had to turn round and go a different way as the road was closed. DD and i sat in the dining room this afternoon with the curtains draw and the lights on trying to block out the lightening. It was really frightening.
