Flooding Rain at EPCOT last night?

We live very close to the parks and the rain was indeed very heavy last night.

We were in epcot. (It was in fact much deeper than it looks on that DHS pic above.)
We started out lucky, as we had just gone into Soarin. People started coming in soaked and drippiing, the roof started leaking in the Land… we stayed in there a long time, as did hundreds of others. We did walk on Soarin three times. The rain on the roof was was so loud in Living with the Land plant growing areas, that I could see my son talking next to me, but could not hear him. But the flooding was the craziest and most surprising. Eventually we decided to leave that building. We were split on heading to the exit or running all the way to France for Remy. Once we got out and found that we truly were shin deep in water, we went for the busses, which took another 1+ hour. It did not seem safe at all. In all my years in WDW, I have never seen standing water like that after a one hour rain storm.

This happened to us in Tomorrowland at MK a few years ago. We got off Buzz and could hardly move for the crowd hiding from the rain at the exit. It was crazy! Almost knee deep in some places. A night that will be remembered for sure!

Happened to my fam a few years ago as well, we had to hide under the HM awning for a while. Trying to exit the park in flip flops wasn’t easy, I kept slipping on the way out.

We got caught in Canada walking to BWV. We were soaked. Completely soaked when we got back to the resort. Water halfway up our shins walking by the skyliner. Crazy.

Been there a don’t that, had a cheap throwaway poncho in our pockets
put them and ran for cover, grab the cell phone checked the radar, seen it was short lived, when it stopped the walking lanes were covered. was wet to the bone all day long, and o my my feet.
