we were there may 13-21. i am writing now because i havent seen
it posted and my husband just reminded me.
on 5/14, late in the evening-we were exiting the haunted mansion
and had to trek thru a couple inches of water.
it was kinda smelly & there were cm's posted near places that were
roped off that were deeper than a few inches. as we walked away
from the area, you could see the manhole covers bubbling. it seemed
to only affect that area. it smelled of sewage.
later in the week, were back again and it was wet but not as deep.
there was no rain all week & no info about what happened surfaced
anywhere.
any one have any ideas what we actually trudged thru. (i still havent put
those sandals back on).

We saw the very same thing late a couple of nights we were there last week of May/first week of June. When I saw it I thought - hmmmm - it must have rained while we were in Haunted Mansion - then I remembered reading somewhere - probably here - that they douse the tops of the buildings in fantasyland and liberty square area during/after the fireworks to protect from fire and figured this was the drain off of that water. The timing was about right and no other area was wet so I concluded that must be it.

That is exactly right about the dousing for fireworks. They rope off the area to keep quests out from underneath the falling sparks and the pouring water.

We saw them doing this at the end of May one night. LOL I just thought they were watering the flowers. It was a lot of water though, like a rainfall over the buildings. Rebecca
