Do WDW resorts allow floatation devices in there pools you bring from home? Do any of the resorts have floatation devices for kids just to use?

Somewhere I read you are not supposed to have them in the pools, but once we got there (at the Poly anyway) lots of people used them in the quiet pool. We ended up going out and buying a floatie for my 20-month-old daughter. I suppose if the pools are full, they don't want extra items in the water - ?? Call your resort and ask, I would say.

Last week we used a swim belt on DD (3.5) at the Contemporary's main pool. She was even allowed to wear it to go down the slide, until she realized she forcefully told everyone she didn't want to go down the slide! So no problems with floaties at Contemporary pool.

PO-Riverside had lifejackets available for the duration of your stay. You get them from the marina (where you pay for bike & boat rentals)
PO-FQ had a bin of them by the main pool that you just had to return after each use.

Sorry if these aren't the types of floatation devices you're thinking of:confused: :)

We actually took our 3 year old's life jacket with us. Now, it did take up quite a bit of roomin the suitcase, but it was worth the piece of mind for me not to worry about her slipping out of an inner tube...yes that can happen quickly, or slipping out of water wings. Just my .02

Both WL and BWV had life jackets for kids to wear in the pool and allowed other flotation devices. At BWV, you could rent all kinds of floating pool toys. Once DD got hold of one of those long "noodles" that she could ride on (with us holding her, of course) she didn't want the floaties anymore.

I had sworn I had heard no devices, so I left the water wings at home. When we got to the pool at ASMo, there were a few kids wearing them. I asked the lifeguard, he said they were fine. He said we could borrow a life jacket in the arcade, or use wings. As it turns out they sold water wings in the gift shop, so I bought 2 pairs and we used them the entire trip at ASMo and BC. Now I only wish they had WDW water wings instead of just generic ones, they would have made a memorable souvenier.

My daughters have always brought there swimming floaties and no one has ever told us we could not use them. In fact, at the Coronado Springs main pool ("Dig Site") they sell inflatables at the poolside stand. You should be absolutely fine with any kind of water floatie you bring!

MY 4 yr old is small & uses a tube that is sewn in a bathing suit. Its as good as a life jacket but gives her more freedom with her arms. Its from Safety First. She has been using it fo r2 years & it was allowed at AKL & BWI
