Finally caught up! Happy Belated Birthday to Parker! I'm sorry I missed it while I was in Vegas. Sounds like he had a great day and your party went well. I'm looking forward to the pics. I can't believe he's 1 already.
I do sloppy joe's like that, too - only we use a can of tomato soup instead of the ketchup, 1 can to 1 or 1 1/2 lbs of ground beef, and chili powder instead of cumin. Everyone loves them.

that sounds like a pretty good reciepe, i am not sure of all the spices she puts in, she has learned like me to just add stuff then try it to see how it tastes.Finally caught up! thanks, i want to try that sometime as well, but not sure how it would be, i would hope htey would let you ride it around on your own some, and not be in a line the whole time, every time i see them in Future world they are always lined up.

I am sorry i have not had an update or shown parkers pictures yet, i got all of them yesterday, and the had a very busy day with meetings all day yesterday...i have them loaded now just have to type it up so please bear with me and dont get discouraged, i will try my hardest to have them up before the end of hte day.

It is finally time for parkers party update, i hope you guys enjoy it.
Well to tell the whole story i will back up to Friday this is of last week...parker had his 1 year check up and he did great, barely cried when he got his shots, walked out to the table to get weighed and measured, walked around the room and played with the doctor while he was checking him...candi said it was funny the doctor which normally never cracks a smile, was laughing like crazy at parker while he was checking him out.
So go to friday night, went for a walk around neigborhood and to the park, then meet my parents at a local pizza joint for dinner...everything all good so far.
get home and parker does not want to play just sit our laps on the couch and get little watching his cartoons, and is acting a little cranky.
they said that about the 6 hour mark, he might feel an effect from the shots since it is a new one that he got this time...well it continued all night till we put him to sleep, he ended up waking up every like 2 hours, and would not go back to sleep unless he could see us standing at his crib with him.
so this went on till about 4 in the morning, when i was at his side for about an hour and he was just not closing his eyes for the fear that i would leave his side, you could tell that his legs were bothering him and he already had some tylenal...so candi did the mommy act and said i will hold him on the couch and let him sleep on me...and i went back to bed.
I went out in the morning and he was sprawled out on his back on her tummy knocked out,she said it was interesting he was sleeping good but tossing and turning alot, so she did not get alot of sleep so it will show that she is tired at his party.
and he snored alot on his back she said, just like his father.
the rest of the morning and afternoon leading up to his party, he had fun playing but wanted to be held alot, and be really close to someone the whole time and would cry when he was walking for the first few hours.
he took a good nap and we it was party time.

they had traffic cones and there names on them in checkered flags for each of the little kids.

I had the cars moving playing on the drop down screen for the kids, they loved it and all of the parents said taht was such a great idea that the could just leave them up there and not have to worry about chasing them around the room, the adults liked it too, i found alot of them watching it at the begining of the party and while eating.

he is such a sweetie pie, he wanted to share it and kept trying to give us a bite.
i came over and had some from him.
i think that the he was a little tired still and his legs still hurt some, which was good that he did not eat alot because, we really did not want him to have a ton of it and then get an upset stomach from all the sugar and what not. so we were fine that he just picked around at it.
here he is all done,
we told him he did a good job and that he did not have to keep eating it and playing with it, and he turned his head to the side like take it away...we felt bad for the little man but knew he would be better soon, it was almost time for presents.
he loved to sit on the table where everyone could see him and open his presents...he would pull everything out of the bags, and throw them behind him or on the table everyone was cracking up at him...he did a great job...going through someof the bags.
my parents put all of his small things wrapped up in this tub, once he wsa done going through it, i put him in the tub, and he opened his new big boy bed that they got him, or course it is a cars bed.
he was very excite to get that, hope you can see it inthe picture it is pretty cool
then he just stayed in there to help open the rest of hte presents, it was a little safer than sitting on the table.
candi tied some of the balloons to his arm and he paraded around the room showing off and thanking everyone for coming.

Here are some of the presents that he got, he got a ton of clothes which we were happy about, he has enough toys already and now has a good amount of more toys.
Here we go.
More megablocks, and a cool cars pillowcase, also got a bunch of sheets and blankets and towels to go with ihs new bed.
we picked up the cars pillow tire at the disney store for his birthday the other day.
and here is his favorite present, a big mack truck tent to play in.

here is the new pictures we put on the wall of his play room. a disney themed play room if you will....the other wall has a giant 3*5 foot castle photo i had a guy at a conference make me up on photo paper, of the castle at night, i have to take a picture of that and show it sometime, you will all love it.
this is what his aunt got him when we were at epcot this dec.
i did not get to it in the TR yet...but her it is from the store we said we dont go in because they are to expensive.
this is very pretty and the detail on it is awesome when you get up clsoe.
when she was ther that night the artist was in the store and actually signed it for her to parker on his first visit, which was very very cool
new coat hooks for his room.

some shelves, and if you look up to the top that is Doc that we drew, we have a cars drawing book that candi and I are drawing all of the characters and then hanging them on his wall, we have about 6 of them done so far, i will post more when we get them all done.

parker loves it and last week when he was playing with it while we were watching tv, he was standing in front of me, and hitting it with both sticks, he stopped and put the sticks right at his sides arms straight, i laughed and said out loud and for his second number, parker will perform beethovans forth, and he stared to play again for like 5 seconds then put his arms at his side, and i said.
"for his third number this evening we have a new song"
he started playing again for like 5 seconds, candi is cracking up on the couch, and i was trying my best to hold it in for if he knows he hears someone laughing at him, he will stop what he is doing and start laughing as well.
hands at his side, i said "for his forth song we have a suprise," and he went at it again, we lost it and he heard us laughing and turned around and started laughing as well...and it was over, one of those moments i wish i had the video running for Americas funniest videos...he did everything on cue..
and finally, here is his big boy spider man 4 wheel drive car...he loves this thing and has a great time when daddy helps him ride it around the house.
well that is about it at least the most exciting parts, hope everyone enjoyed them.

Where did you get the multi-picture frame at?? the one with the mouse ears?? The one with the 10 pictures...That is really cool!

at the scrapbook store which is i think with the hanes tshirt store now...they always have new ones, my parents got a totally different one when they went last year
we have a really cool disney one that we got wehre the letters are cut out for pictures it spells disney, but we have not found a frame for it yet, but will soon i hope.
i know we know now to not schedule his appointment close to his party...or at least wait till after his party next year for his 2 year one.Very cool party. I used to hate it when we went in the well child shots. I still hate it when they have to get shots and two of them are teenagers.

What a perfect 1st birthday! I just love his room. You and Candi doing all the drawings is a wonderful sentimental idea! But where do you find time to do all of this stuff!!! I'm lucky I have a minute to breathe!!

Great party! Everything looked so nice! I love all of the details of Parker's playroom! The Mac truck is really neat. Candi did a great job on the cakes. One of my goals is to take a Wilton class at Michael's. I like the cones with the kids names. Very creative!

well, when he goes to bed at night, we draw them or when he takes a nap during the day sometimes candi lays in bed and draws them...we have learned to just relax and take the time to do it and not make everything so crazyWhat a perfect 1st birthday! she did a really good job on it, and we just came across the cake mold at the pottery barn one day.
he is a cute little ham.
we thought the movie would be great so the kids would not run around like crazy and the parents could actually sit an enjoy the party and talking with each other, they all thanked us for the movie playing.His party looks like it was a blast

thanks, we loved decorating his room and the play room, it is not done yet, b ut getting close
those cones came with one of the party sets of his, so it worked out great.
she had a blast doing it, and hopes that she can continue to make ones that he likes.
it is a cool frame, we just put the pics in it a few weeks ago from our trip a few months ago.
most of the cars stuff came in a big kit that my sister got him from toys r us, or babies r us, it had like 20 different things in it.
the other stuff is things we found at the disney store which was on clearance the last few weeks with an extra 25% off.
Parker sure got a lot of cool stuff for his birthday, what a handsome guy he is turning out to be.
