Flip Flops at WDW- Yay or Nay?

Whatever you wear, think about what will happen if they get wet. I wore my flip flops which I wear every single day at home. They were great. Then we went on Splash Mountain, they got wet, stretched out and I got blisters. Be sure to bring blister pads no matter what you wear.

I wear flip flops all summer at home so when we go that is all I wear and never have a problem. I love my A & F ones;)

I wear flip flops at home, but I always wear sneakers at WDW. I got a pair of Sketchers Lite for our last trip and never had a problem.

I have worn them as have my kids with out any problems but we are usually in them for part of the summer so our feet are used to them.

I would think if I went in April/pre June, my feet wouldn't like me too much but I'd still wear them just not for the full day.

I always wear flip flops in the parks. I don't even bring sneakers. My Dh has no idea how my feet don't hurt. I cannot stand wearing sneakers for any period of time. I prefer shoes, flip flops, and just plain bare feet. Heck if I could go bare foot at WDW I would chose that.

I suppose its what you are used to wearing.

I live in my TEVA mush flip flops and my TEVA wedge-sole mush flip flops for 9 months out the year. My feet would feel very confused inside tennis shoes at WDW! And I wouldn't be able to admire my cute toenails, either!

I wear my croc flip flops at Disney. I also bring tennis shoes and alternate. I don't think I would wear just a pair of regular flip flops unless I was just going back into a park at night for a couple of hours. Yes, you probably wear flip flops everyday at home, but if you are like me, you aren't walking 5-10 miles a day at home like you likely are a Disney. If you choose to wear flip flops, I would go with a more supportive pair.

Everyone is going to be diffrent on this :). I wear flip flops all year long. I went to Disney last May and had to change my flip flops out for crocs about 3 days later. My feet hurt so bad. I thought I would be ok. I went to bed one night after being at MK all day and woke up with my feet hurting so bad. I love my crocs. They felt so much better in crocs. Everyones feet are going to be diffrent though.

I always wear flip flops in Disney. I used to wear the cheap Old Navy ones, but my high arches gave up on my. Now I wear Reefs, which have terrific support and are way more comfortable to me than sneakers.

Not sure how old you are or the condition of your feet-

My feet would not survive all the Disneyworld walking in flip flops and I normally where flip flops all the time in my life. Although I did wear croc flops some on our last trip.

I mention age because we had three teens on our last trip and they all wore flip flops daily and seemed to be just fine.

The last time we went to Disney I was 4 months pregnant with DS#2 and I wore flip flops (Teva Mush, Keen Waimea scuba -LOVE THESE!!!- and Target ones) as well as my Caymen Crocs... I was A-OK!

I just got a 2nd pair of Keen Waimea's today and plan on wearing my Keen's the most... but I'll have Crocs and my Teva's with me too...

I wore croc athens flip flops for three straight weeks at WDW and didn't once have a sore foot. They were SO comfortable!

My friends 2 teen girls were seriously blistered way before anyone else in our party had a problem. Bring band-aids or moleskin just in case if your fashion-sense wins. Of course I understand the dilemma, who doesn't love cute shoes?

I wore my Tevas everyday, I didn't even bring other shoes. I live in them during the summer so I knew my feet would be fine in them all day. My dh and kids wore their sneakers and we got caught in a downpour in AK, I was the only one who didn't have to buy new shoes to wear to dinner :)

I also have to recommend the Teva Mush flip flops! :thumbsup2

I brought 3 pairs with me last year and alternated between them. I find them much more comfortable then my Athens Crocs. You will have to find what is comfy for you.

I live in flip flops all summer, but there's no way my feet could handle the parks in Old Navy ones - not enough support or cushion.

Soaking wet gymshoes in a downpour is not fun! Flip flops are the way to go!

I normally wear my Teva mush flip flops or Reefs in the parks. I do bring sneakers as well, but my feet sweat too much wearing them. Then again, I love my flip flops and wear them year round!

We always wear sneakers and bring extra socks to change into in the afternoon. I just feel that my feet are more comfortable and well-protected in sneakers, but I'm athletic so I wear sneakers every day.

I hate flip flops so I wear Tevas at water parks.

DH once wore flip flops at a combination water-and-amusement park for an entire day. He ended up with horrible blisters that became infected and required two courses of antibiotics to beat down.

I love wearing flipflops on my trips, but also have encountered sore feet. I wore my Orthaheel flipflops last year and they were great. They have two different versions (Tide and Wave). They are pricey....$54.99/pair, but they are so worth it for summer trips. Google them and check it out. I am a serious overpronator and am 38 years old so am not a spring chicken! These have a built in arch support and heel support, but look like a regular flipflop. I just ordered two pairs for my trip this year so I have different colors to match my outfits! Definitely worth the investment.

FLIP FLOPS go with EVERYTHING! :yay: (<---- That's my signature quote on another message board.)

I always wear flip flops at Disney. Here at home, I wear them right up to Nov.1st and start again April 1st, and I live on the snowbelt in NY. (We've been known to have snow on Mother's Day.:rotfl2:)
