flip flop / sandal recommendations

I usually wear these Skecher flip-flops: http://www.skechers.com/style/37795/works-rocky-point/nat
Which seem to be discontinued. :sad1: They probably still have some at places like Shoe Carnival and maybe a Skechers outlet.

The little ridges on them feel AMAZING on tired feet. I have some foot/arch issues and I have been able to wear these for hours and hours without feeling any pain or discomfort.

I also take a pair of regular flip-flops and a pair of well worn in gym shoes/sneakers/whatever you want to call them. I find that I personally am less likely to blister and/or get sore feet if my shoes are already broken in and if I change them around a bit.

I have never heard of Tevas before, but after all of the recommendations here I think I might have to check them out!

If you like those you might want to try one of these out:

They all three get good reviews.

I just bought the flojos and love them. Like walking on clouds. I would love to try the northface wedge (in the link). Sometimes when I walk in flip flops all day my ankles hurt but when I wear a wedge, my ankles feel better. Not sure if this is common or I have strange ankles. Does anyone have these wedges? If so, how are they?

I had a couple pairs of Teva sandals that I loved, and one of them got a big crack on the bottom, so I've stopped wearing that pair away from home so if it breaks entirely I won't have as big of a problem. I think it was called New Inversion or something like that. I replaced it last March with another Teva sandal, the Tera Fi 2. It has a bit different footbed and more arch support, and the past two trips to WDW even though I had a second pair of sandals with me, that's the only one I wore to the parks. I love that pair.
I've never had a pair of crocs because I need my shoes to fit properly, and with my narrow feet the crocs don't feel right. I really wanted to try and tan Mickey heads into my feet, but proper fitting footwear is more important to me.

I wear Yellow Box flip flops. I use to have really bad plantar fasciitis, and I need really good arch support for high arches. The arch support is great when they are new, and the flip flops that are thicker than an inch in the sole are the best for comfort. :goodvibes With back issues and knee pain due to weight, these are the one's I swear by. They are a bit on the pricey side, but sooooo worth it!! Zappos has a good selection of them and so does Cavender's Boot City online, Cavender's tends to be cheaper. Good luck! :thumbsup2

I literally live in Reef flip flops as much as I can. Last year I wore them 6 out of 7 days to the parks and my feet were fine. They are cushioned more than the average flip flop. We walked a lot (so much so that I lost 7lbs on the trip) and I had no foot complaints.

I like the ones with fabric straps.

Anyone wear Rainbows in the parks? Trying to decide between a pair of those and a pair of Reefs.

Definitely KEEN shoes - lightweight, great arch support, you'll never get a blister in them ever, and you can walk forever in them! I have VERY bad feet and have no problems walking day after day at Disney! Until I found these shoes, I was stopping every 100 yards to put new bandaids on my blisters and rest my aching feet while at Disney. NO MORE!!

I wear the St. Barts style, DH likes Venice H2 (I think those are the ones?).

Do you know how the support is in the kids KEEN shoes? I wear kids size shows and they normmaly have less support. I need shoes with good support.

I swear by my Sanuk yoga mat flip flops! They are pricier than say, Old Navy ones - but they are sooo comfy. They are actually made out of yoga mats, so they are nice and squishy! I know some people love Rainbows, but the arch that is in them bothers my feet - the Sanuks are perfect. My husband has a pair too, and the ones for guys are made out of drink cozy -- also super thick and comfy! Good luck to you! :goodvibes

I too adore sanuk yoga mats. I own three pairs and have bought them for my daughters. They are very cushiony. I have found that endless shoes.com has good prices with free next day shipping.

I just can't believe that nobody has mentioned Birkenstocks! They are so supportive, especially if you've ever experienced plantar fasciitis. I just couldn't wear flip flops or anything without good support. A little more expensive... ok a lot more than cheap flip flops, but worth every penny and they last for years!

I'm surprised to see you mention Birks. I've had problem feet for years, with bouts of plantar fasciitis, and Birks kill my feet. I agree that they are supportive, but the soles are so stiff that I find them to be very uncomfortable.

On my quest to find the perfect flip flop for our upcoming trip, I have recently discovered Nike flip flops! I love them!! I have very wide feet and nothing seems to have the fit, that I want personally, as the Nike flip flops have.:wizard:

After reading alot of good reviews on Berks I tried them, but they absolute killed my arches and heels. I thought maybe I just needed to break them in more slowly so kept trying, but they make my plantar fasciitis flare up every time I wear them. I then tried the Naots since people say they are better than Birkenstocks and are also cuter. They were better than the Birks. I can wear them several hours with no problem, but no way could I wear them all day at WDW.

I have these Birks and Naots:

However, with plantar fasciitis the most comfortable shoes I've found are Olukai Ohanas, Sketcher Toneups, Orthoheels, Molokinis, or Fit Flops (in that order).

Wow that's incredible... I keep my birks by the bed and put them on as soon as I wake up in the morning, especially when my PF is flaring up! I find the arch support really helps. Also, I can't argue that breaking in birks is no fun at all, but my whole family swears by the things. Ah well, whatever works for you :)

I swear by my Teva mush ( have probably 12 different pairs or more)...gotta be color coordinated ya know! I wear them all day everyday on vacation. I recently tried the Teva Adaptos and they are just as comfy as the mush.

I even have my 81 yr old mom addicted to the Teva Mush. My husband, who had surgery on both feet for PF wears Teva Mush when he's not in his New Balance tennis shoes ( tho he always wears his tennis shoes, with orthotics at the parks).

So what do you wear on your feet? I prefer not to wear sneakers because it'll be too warm.

Flip flops are much better, especially if it's still hot out! If there is the occasionaly scattered thunderstorm and you end up getting drenched, sneakers and socks are not comfortable at all! I recommend the Nike cushion flip flops. That's all I wore last year and had no problems!
