I know this is not Disney but which companies would you recommend for checking flights to new York. Then from Houston back to uk.

Someone I work with asked and I know you guys would have the answer.

Kayak are a good way to check flights

Kayak are great. I also found Netflights brought up some good offers last year and try the airlines directly by playing around too.
