I may have missed a cheap flight by being too greedy! But , here is the deal:
To Orlando FROM Atlanta was $115.00 (on a Sunday) From Atlanta TO Orlanda was $79. This was last week, now it has gone back up.:headache:
My dates to fly are Dec, 2 & 7. I can only hope there will be some more cheaper flights posted. Last year I booked a flight early and if I had waited I could have saved a good bit. It is just hard to know when to book. I have to have morning to Orlando and evening home to Atlanta. Since I don't fly much, I just don't know. Any advice?:confused3

I have heard that the prices don't go down much on Sundays, is this usually true?

THANKS:santa:

i can't help you much with your dilemma, but just know that there are others out there like you that stress about what to book when. i stressed over booking our flight too early/not early enough, what kind of rental to get, where to stay, how many days park pass....just about everything!!

Do yourself a favor and sign up for DING! from Southwest. They send periodic deals to your computer. I recently found a direct flight from New Orleans to Orlando for $104 roundtrip, and the same deal has come up twice in the past 3 weeks. Can't beat that with a stick.

By the way, the deals are only released about a month in advance, right now they are releasing mostly October deals, so be patient. If all else fails, drive. You are about as far as I am from Orlando, the drive is not that bad. Even with the cheap flight, we are still driving.

I would watch the flights for another week or so. WHen I booked mine it was as low as 219 one week then jumped up to 259 the next and then down again. We got the $219 one being confident it would not go any lower. (It didn't go down and now that SAME flight is $719 a month before our trip.

Flights go up and down depending on what day you are looking as well. So I would keep an eye out and book when you feel comfortable, don't wait too long though. The more the flight books the more confident airlines get that they can up the price.

I tried round-trip Atlanta to Orlando on Dec 2 & 7 on farecast.com and it suggests waiting to buy (80% confidence that rates will drop). It's not a guarantee (although farecast will let you lock in at the lowest rate for $9.95, I think), but they do a lot of research and analysis to get to that prediction, and the site says they are about 75% accurate overall. You can also sign up for a farecast alert if the price drops.

Also, check the Transportation board...lots more info there about flights and timing. Good luck!

Got $79 flight from Philly today for Dec 2nd.
