Don't know what happened to my original post, so I'll post it again...

We have just returned from our trip to Disneyland! We had a awesome time!! My hubby (who I thought would hate everything about disneyland and have a awful time) has asked me when our next trip will be and this time he wants to try WDW!!

So I need to work out a rough budget to see if it is possible for us to afford another trip sometime in the near future (a year or two). We would only stick to Orlando this time.

Would you all share what kind of airfares you have found so I can get an idea of what is out there and what's reasonable. Also what airline and month of travel. We are more than happy to have stopovers to lower the price.

Thanks so much!

Sorry should have added that bit of info lol - Brisbane

I had no trouble finding flights to LA, I think just all the different options on how to get to Orlando are doing my head in...lol.

Your post was there but would not open. Your username would not open either. It was as if someone had reported the post and was locked removed.

I think what happened is that after I pressed 'send' on my iPad, my iPad crashed and I had to shut the app down. Perhaps it hadn't finished uploading. I always seem to have problems with the app!?

Only done it once but flew Qantas to Dallas ( from Mel-syd-DFW)and then flew Dallas to Orlando with American Airlines( around 1.5hr flight). Got all the luggage allowances being on one itinerary even on domestic segment. This saves money. Even better if you are a higher tier frequent flyer ( lounges, luggage) . Also in the situation where a flight is delayed because it's on the one fare they stick you on the next flight. ( good for us as our flight was 4 hrs late) Best part was it was the launch special in 2011 and cost $1100 rtn. I think it sits about $1800rtn these days.

We went last year
Booked on qantas web site
melb - Orlando return. Cost $1600
We flew melb- sydney-Dallas- Orlando
Coming home was orlando - LA- melbourne

I'm going in November. My flights are adelaide-Sydney-Dallas- Orlando return and it was just over $2000

We are located in Brisbane as well. We booked our flights in two separate parts. We got $1100 flights BRIS-LAX and then LAX-MCO for $180 including baggage.
I'm more than happy to help with anything, I'm currently planning our return to WDW in Feburary.

Thanks everyone for your replies!

Rikkilee- that's what I was thinking of doing. For our trip to LA last month we paid $1050 adults and $850 kids with AirNZ. I looked up a few internal flight carriers last night and found flights for $170US. So much to look into and think about, but that's half the fun right?!

:thumbsup2 that is all the fun!

We also got flights for this October with Air NZ from Brisbane-Auck-LAX and return for around $1150 (but could have got Virgin for $1200 and left out the Auck detour if I'd waited that extra couple of months-at the time everyone was so dear I didn't want to miss out!) and then $98 pp flight to Orlando with Virgin America (could have got return for same again but doing a road trip in the middle so paid Orlando to Albuquerque $155 with Southwest). SW have free one bag each included but will pay for a bag on Virgin America - only one bag going east but will have 2 likely coming back (only 2 of us travelling and we're not huge shoppers).

$98 p/p is an awesome price. Well done.

Personally I'll pay a little more to book international and domestic flights together, so I can book my luggage through. This doesn't work for the first leg, as you need to collect your luggage to go through customs, but on the way home it's so much nicer not to have to worry about it. :thumbsup2
