We live in NY and I really want to fly this time! We drove last time we went to WDW and it was terrible! There are seven of us so it's not cheap to fly. I was told Southwest had the best prices but when I check online the cheapest I can find comes to $2795. That doesn't sound reasonable at all, but maybe I'm wrong, I haven't flown in 6 years....Anyone know a better airline or a cheaper way to fly? I was thinking about checking into a different a airport like JFK or Boston. :confused3 If we fly we are meeting my parents in Daytona for an extra four days but if we drive we won't be able too.

We fly from Boston or Providence and usually try to pay between 225 - 300 per person. We have had good luck with JetBlue from Boston, and Southwest from Providence.
But, with Southwest we have found you need to be able to book when the dates are first opened/released or when they have a sale in order to get the lowest fares.
It also depends on what time of year you are flying, and how far in advance you are booking.
And if you check bags, and are flying with an airline that charges for checked bags, make sure you add in that cost.

also check Flights on Jetblue or Southwest out of Bradley Intl airport. Not sure how far it is from you, but we fly out of there every year and have always got decent airfare booking right when they release fares.

We are missing some KEY data to advise you

1. Dates?
2. Airports? (NY has lots of airports and not just the city) Do you want to fly to Daytona or just to Orlando.

The more data you give the better the info you get back.
Also, don't check 7 at once... that's probably going to be a problem. Let's say SW had 3 tickets at $200 round trip, 1 ticket at $300 and 8 tickets at $400. When you put in 7 the airline systems don't go, "ok that's 3 tickets at $200, 1 at $300 and 3 at $400 for a total of $2,100" They go "7 tickets at $400" because that's the way the software works (and this is on all of them)

We are going May 18th-28th. We live closest to Albany International Airport and we would be arriving and departing from Orlando. If I put in the tickets the way you suggested will are seats still be together? Thanks:)

Southwest has not opened up for that time yet but if you keep an eye out as someone else said when they do open up for your time frame and you check right away you may be able to get a good deal. Good luck!

Southwest doesn't assign seats. You check in on-line 24 hours before your flight time and get a boarding number. Once you board you pick your seat. If 7 of you want to sit together you might want to do the early bird check in ($10/pp extra).

Which airport was that quote from?

Chances are, if you give MacArthur Airport (Islip, Long Island) a try (Southwest has many flights to/from ISP), you may do better money-wise than flying from the airports in NYC/Newark.

Also worth mentioning: Southwest also has a lot of activity in Philadelphia...
