I'm looking to book my niece a flight out of Calgary to join us on our family vacation.

I've been searching with and found Frontier Airlines. Has anyone taken this particular itinerary or have flown with them in the past?

We're from Nova Scotia so I'm not sure what is considered a good deal out of Calgary to MCO. Air Canada offers 645 return, West Jet is higher  Frontier is 503 USD.

Any other suggestions would be great! :)

Thanks.

I just checked Expeida, and I am not sure when you are looking for but they seem to have flights from Delta, American Airlines and Continetal for around 500.

I think everytime that we have gone we pay around 500 - 600 for our flights.

Good Luck!!

We paid $1550 (taxes icl.) round-trip for 2 of us with WestJet. This was their regular price, no seat sale or anything. SInce then the price has gone up to over $2000 and one leg has sold out. I guess it depends on how full the flight is when you buy your tickets.

Hi There!

I have flown out of Calgary to MCO but have never flown frontier airlines. I took a wonderful direct flight from Calgary to Orlando via Westjet and the flight was WONDERFUL! The staff was great and the satellite TV in each of the seats was really nice. It was worth the few extra dollars to have a direct flight. However, the only downfall is that you have to pay for your food and really only have sandwiches. On the way back, I flew with my parents through Toronto and then took a connecting flight in Toronto (and didn't know I had to take my luggage through). It was really annoying.....

Another flight I took was a flight from Calgary to Houston and then Houston to Orlando. Again, not a huge fan of the connecting flights... and almost missed my connecting flight due to a gate change and flew Contenintal (which was pleasant). They had food service and TV and video games in each seat. It is a pretty long flight, so if you can minimize connections, I would do so...

I believe that my tickets roundtrip in Canadian dollars has been between $550 - $650

Best of luck!

We booked the vacation first (through two separate on-line TA's) and thought we would wait for a seat sale on the air from Calgary. Big mistake. Prices have gone way up over the last 6 weeks and good schedules are very hard to come by (although it may be easier to find only 1 seat that 3). We ended up getting the best price by booking two separate one-way flights on different airlines. We're going out on Frontier via Denver - about 8 hours in the air all together. One-way YYC - MCO is $320.00 each incl. taxes. This is about the best rate going right now, although it's a mid-week flight and prices are higher Friday - Monday. Westjet and Air Canada are a lot higher than this. Frontier Air has just started flying into/out of Calgary and have been doing a lot of advertising - I imagine they'll be comparable to a Southwest Airlines or America West experience.

Good luck with the flights -

Annette :wave2:
