Family member is new to the Nashville area and I am trying to determine how anyone can offer to fly out of this airport.

Knowing that this is a regional airport, I have looked at all the airlines for a fall trip to either flying into Orlando or Tampa; based on the cost either destination would require "taking out a loan".

If anyone that has used this airport before can possible give me any tips or tricks on the timing of purchasing tickets at a reasonable price, if would be appreciated.

If you are looking at fall break(early October), demand is extremely high as well as prices. The best time to book is as soon as SW releases October dates. Other tips would be good with every airport. Look at prices daily, sometimes 2-3 times a day. Move your dates to a time frame that is not in demand as much. Fly midweek or on Saturday.

Live in Nashville and SW is the best bet. However October flights are very $$. Last October we ended up driving because they never went down low enough to warrant flying.

As a rule, is it cheaper to fly SW into Orlando or Tampa?

Thanks

I've never found Tampa flights to be much cheaper once you factor in transfers Have you looked in last day or so? There was a good sale going on.

You can find some good prices, but you have to be willing to search for the price you want.

What I usually do is search on a general site like Travelocity. When the ticket prices look good to me, I'll go directly to the airline I want to fly and book tickets through them. Of course, that doesn't work if you're flying Southwest, but it's a time saver for any other airline.

I live in Murfreesboro, just south of Nashville, and always use Southwest to fly to Orlando. We are going in September and December this year. I got okay prices for September, $103, each way, but December I got $90 going down and $59 coming back.
