Hi, We are just in the process of booking first trip as a family to WDW. Thanks to advice from this forum we have decided to book for Sept/Oct 2006, staying in a private villa (haven't booked it yet). The problem I am having is how to book the flight. We would really like to fly direct from either Belfast or DUblin, but I believe Aer Lingus will not be flying to Orlando anymore after Jan 2006 (I believe there is a chance this might change but not sure I'm willing to wait and see) It is a shame because I previously priced flights with them for about £1100 for all of us (family of 2 adults, 2 kids). I guess my question is does anyone know of any other airlines that fly direct from Belfast or Dublin and that don't charge a fortune or are we gonna have to go through London? If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated. Please help!!!

Cheers :flower:

Hi Nicola

Apart from Aer-Lingus it is only charter flights direct from Budget travel / American Holidays / Tour America (I think they consolidate and all use the one flight but I'm not 100% sure) that go from Dublin, I also think they only operate in the summer (June - September).

We are paying approx £1,870 for two adults and two kids flying Dublin / Newark / MCO with Continental this August. We booked 11 months ago as soon as the flights were released. If we could have got the Aer-Lingus flights they would have been nearly £600 cheaper.

Can't help with the Belfast info but I am sure someone else will be along

Hi Nicola
I know that another DISer, Night-Train (John) from Coleraine has booked for next October, and he is flying with Virgin Holidays. I think he got a free connecting flight from Belfast with Fly-Be.
I'm sure he could tell you more about it! :teeth:

Still not having any luck with booking flights and I'm getting very frustrated. Every website I try are quoting much higher than other people on this board have posted. Perhaps I need to ring them directly. Very upset about the aer lingus flights ending as we were quoted £1100. I rang aer lingus to check and they said that there definitely will be no more flights after Jan 2005. The best price I can get elsewhere seems to be £1570 flying Continental Dublin-orlando-not happy with that so the quest continues  . Any further advice would be greatly appreciated.

I booked our flights from Glasgow through www.chartertravel.co.uk and we are flying scheduled flight to Orlando via Chicago which was preferable to me than going via London.

I don't know if they can help you from Ireland but I found them very helpful and might be worth a try.

phone number is 01635 872861

They checked all chartered and scheduled flights for the dates we were looking for and in the end the scheduled flight was slightly cheaper than the chartered one for the same dates.

check out my travel.com flights 23rd sept till 7th oct 2 adults 2 children £1136.20 hope this helps :flower: leaving from belfast int that is for this year but give them a call

Hi there,

I booked October this year with my boyfriend through Tour America. We fly from Shannon to Newark to MCO
it cost us in total 2,500 for Return flights Continental, 8 nights orlando, 8 nights Clearwater & 3 nights New York. plus transfers to and from hotels and airports etc.

The person I spoke to at Tour America was Grainne

Hi Nicola,

We have booked for 10 -27th Dec 2006 flying from Belfast City to Gatwick and then with Virgin to MCO. I know direct flights would be great but Virgin are brill to fly with. Our flydrive with an upgraded car, and overnight hotel in London (2 adults and 2 kids) is working out at less than £2100. Villas are easy to get on sites such as www.orlandovillas.com.

Flying with Flybe (which only cost £10 return each) you can check your luggage right through to MCO when flying the same day - which we have done before. This time we will be using Twilight Check-in in Gatwick (checking in the night before our flight) instead as travelling early due to it being winter - don't want any delays. Virgin also have a check in at Downtown Disney for your return meaning that you get rid of your bags first thing and have the full day to shop etc.

Personally we prefer to go on Virgin into MCO rather than with Airtours to Sanford. Also the drive home from Dublin would not be very appealing so we opt for London.

Had a quick look in the Virgin 2006 brochure - transfer flights for Sept and Oct are free, they are also offering some free child places in Sept. The brochure can be ordered from www.virginholidays.co.uk.

If you are thinking of booking with virgin holidays sign up for the Virgin Flying Club - found on the virgin atlantic site - as this will give you an additional 10% off everything.

Hope this helps,

Tracey
