Flights August 2011

Has anyone got any suggestions of where else I can look for LGW-MCO flights next August?

VA are £950 and indirects are coming in at £700/£750 for ok connection times.

It's our tenth wedding anniversary next August, we have booked SSR with free dining for a group of 23 of us. Each family group is booking and paying for their own flights but the prices seem ridiculously high this year.

Have looked on Expedia, Travelocity, Opodo, VA, VH, Kayak, Delta, Continental, Asda travel. Travelocity had some nice indirects for £641 but when our dates were released they were much higher!

Anywhere else I can look? Am considering LHR but nobody is keen really and it isn't much cheaper.

Really want to get this booked now. Getting stressed

Many of us are looking for exactly the same thing, we want 3 seats for relatives 4th-18th and another 3 seats for us 4th-28th, willing to fly from any mainland UK airport to any airport from Miami upto Charlotte but prices are around what you have quoted.
I didn't book until January for this August so no rush yet, best offers I saw were Feb/Mar time.

Well we booked on Thursday. Prices were changing before our very eyes. We booked for 2 adults and 2 children, indirect with US Airways at £2854.

Not very happy with the price but we have paid about £700 less than direct with Virgin on the same dates. The rest of our party have booked too. With 23 of us returning on the same date Sept 2nd (weekend before school starts) we were not willing to wait longer. If I had been booking for just my family of four I think I would have waited and chanced my arm for a better price.

Last year we flew indirect with Delta via Atlanta and Cleveland- it was actually great.

What's US Airways like? And changing at Charlotte airport? Anybody done the same route before?

Im still looking, would consider indirect but the price difference with going direct doesnt seem to be worth it on the dates we want.

I always feel that it would be worse to miss a decent fare which I am happy to pay than to pay now and see a drop. But I like to be organised!!

Well done on getting it booked. We are looking for August/September next year and flights seem a lot higher especially with Virgin than on what they where in 08. Thinking will book indirect with Continental via Newark for £575 each.

Try BA, they fly from LGW direct and their prices were cheapest around for me anyway. They also have a sale on right now too.... Good luck!

Looked at them by the time the taxes had gone on was 200 dearer than flying from Manchester indirect. Would rather do the Manchester flights.

£863pp in economy for our dates. Cheaper than the £1,028pp for our preferred route MAN~MCO but still too much for me.

Don't know if this will help anyone, but I've found slightly cheaper Virgin flights today (for next August).

In the end we booked BA into TPA on 5th Aug, back from MIA on 25th (don't mind driving down there on check-out day). Currently at £779 on BA.com. We got them for a bit less.

I ended up taking the splurge and just booked our first premium economy flights for next August flying 23rd August returning 10th now I need to go change my booking with complete orlando to include an extra night and also do extra few days at Universal Orlando resort plus one night St Augustine.
