I was checking flights from Lga to Mco for 4/6-4/16/07 non stops are about 350.00 a ticket, I can not believe how expensive flights are.
Does anyone elses flights to high???
:scared:

Yes, I remember I was starting to look back in December and the flights from Newark or LGA to MCO were the same price as yours.

We were able to book Nwk - Tampa through Jet Blue a few months ago for $99 each way. I don't mind the hour drive if it saves us over $500. We always rent a car so not getting Magical Express out of MCO wasn't a factor for us.

Maybe you could look into nearby airports if you don't mind being a little out of the way?

I just checked JetBlue for 4/5 leaving JFK and Newark and prices are 338.00 I thought I we left on Thur. instead of Friday. it would be cheaper. Still very high.

Tulsa to Mco 6/1 to 6/9 are running around $1200 for 2 adults and 1 child age 3. We went in Sept 06 for around $900. It's just killing me to think about paying that much. I keep thinking the prices will go down so I just keep waiting but I'm starting to get a little anxiuos. I was waiting for SW to open up their schedule and they did today but their prices are high also.

Try Airtran.com for flights out of White Plains, NY (HPN). I'm seeing flights for $99-$129 N/S if you are flexible with your dates (use the 2 days b/4 and after option on there reservations tab). Good luck!

You are looking at dates right over Easter, so I suspect that's a major factor. I've been looking at flights from New England to Tampa this spring, and couldn't get anything "cheap" until the end of April and on into May. Feb, March & April are winter/spring break time and, as I mentioned, Easter. Everyone in a cold state wants to go south this time of year! The airlines will fill the seats anyway so don't really need to slash prices. I ended up booking last week of April with Southwest and got $150 round trip!!

Not that expensive really. I'm finding airfares from LGA to MCO on those dates, around $234 round-trip, which is pretty reasonable.

Tulsa to Mco 6/1 to 6/9 are running around $1200 for 2 adults and 1 child age 3.
I'm finding $330 each passenger (not taking advantage of any child fares that might be available). Not great, but still reasonable.

Airline fares and inventory change constantly.

That said the OP said N/S airfare would cost $350, the lowest N/S I found on Expedia is $347. The lowest fare I found is $243 with a connection in Indy. Spirit is around $300 with a connection in FLL.

Airlines particularly SW are doing a better job limiting the number of deeply discounted seats on peak flights that passengers would pay more to fly. The first N/S flight on a Saturday morning for example.

Some people believe if a low fare bucket sells out immediately there probably wasn't any reason for the airline to offer that fare bucket.

Passengers have to decide what's more important, great price or great flight times. That's the reason I checked Expedia. I was curious if Bicker was looking at the lowest available fare and the OP was looking at the fare for the flight he wanted to take.

I'm waiting for a GSO flight to MCO. It was over $300 yesterday, today it's $264, this is Delta. Others are much higher. We're leaving after Easter, so that shouldn't be the issue. Right now, I'm still waiting it out. When I ran the rates for a fake booking, there was over 1/2 of the plane showing as available, so I'm hoping the rates drop again as we get closer. If I have nothing great by the end of March, I'll just take what I can get then.

That is Easter Week!!

And some booking engines are better at finding low fares than others.

I found a bunch of flights at $234, through kayak.com.

We found the same flights, I guess Expedia adds some kind of booking fee.

My point is the OP was looking for a N/S flight and, with the exception of one JetBlue flight, the N/S flights all price at $347 (using kayak) which is about $350.

Thanks for suggesting kayak.com

Those fares look pretty good for a holiday week. The OP has to decide if he wants a N/S flight or lower fares.

The less flexibility you have, the more you'll pay, surely.

Those sound good considering our area. I just checked on tickets for us if we could even consider flying for our March trip. Non stop is $1228 per ticket and the cheapest is over $700 per ticket. This is why we always drive.

Check Kayak, like Bicker said. Then call the airline and you can get about another $15 off each ticket.

I'm traveling April 4-12 for $213 a ticket from Milwaukee to Orlando. Now those tickets are $178 with taxes it comes to $208. I bought our tickets way back in June of 06. Try United, I know someone paying $69 a ticket from Ohare to Orlando. United tends to have cheaper flights closer to the time you want to go to WDW.

Thanks everyone,

I know it's easter time, usually we go in July when my DD is off from school, we wanted to try disney when it was a little cooler, she is off easter week. Anyway My DB travels alot on business, he said he thinks he could get my Delta 4/6 leave 7:00am arriving aroung\d 10:00am and 4/16 leave MCO at 11:00 am that would be great. Just wanted from him to confirm.:cloud9: :cloud9:

This is not always true. On DL they charge you $10 a ticket for a phone booking as do other airlines.

After I check things like kayak I go to the airline website and book directly. That generally is cheapest.

We're flying airtran out of Philly 4/5 - 4/12 for $212 rt - non-stop flight. We booked the tickets a week or so ago. The plan was to drive, unless we found an airfare in the $200 range (4 of us). Philly is a 3 hour drive from home, but we leave Philly at 4:00 pm and arrive back in PHilly at 1:30 pm, so we don't need overnights in Philly either way....

Good Luck.....We're all so much happier flying...The drive down isn't bad, the ride back is a KILLER!

I am so happy with JetBlue's deals, and their service is awesome, I've heard nothing negitive from anyone. We're flying RT from White Plains, NY. to MCO, $99.00 each way. I've heard they may have other upcoming specials. From what I can see on their site, I think they have great deals compaired to others. Look it up at www.JetBlue.com

Good luck!
