We have just currently returned from Orlando and are in the process of becoming a DVC member with AK as our home base! We are so excited about the prospect of returning to Disney but just wondered how easy it is to get flights and what kind of cost we would be looking at? Direct or indirect? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks all!

Hi  and welcome to the UK DIS boards!

The best advice for flights?
  • do your research so you know what would be a realistic price for flights when you hope to travel
  • shop around
  • join any airline frequent flyer scheme and or AirMile to earn poins that might help you get a discount
  • shop around!

Flight bargains seem to be harder and harder to find these days, but having the flexibility of DVC accommodation has made it easier for us to make use of any good flight prices we find. And the planning / finding / booking is all part of the holiday enjoyment for me ;)

I got a Virgin credit card and joined their reward club. Since then we have done most flights at 2 for the price of 1 thanks to the points.

Booking as soon as flights are released has worked for us. In our experience the prices tend to rise closer to the holiday date. We have mainly flown with virgin,, we are paying around £1800 for flights this october and paid around£1400 all in for flights last november. Dont travel around half term if you can help it, prices are crazy.

Forgot to say we are AKV owners, you will be very Happy you picked AKV!, its fantastic!

Welcome to the DIS, Worksopdisney and congratulations on your DVC purchase. :goodvibes

You'll get a much broader response to this question if you post it on UK Trip Planning as that forum receives more traffic. Many of our members book DIY trips rather than packages, regardless of whether or not they own DVC.
