I'm looking to start planning a trip next year via Miami and need to book flights. Bad news is we need to fly out wed/thurs before good friday as we are on a cruise for the 1st part of holiday!!!

I'm hoping someone can give me a few pointers on where's best to look for flights and when (roughly!) are the flight sales with the major carriers. Given we're flying just before Easter looking to get these as cheap as possible. We're not bothered about direct flights either - happy for 1 stopover/change.

Can anyone help? All advice greatly appreciated. TIA

I wouldn't hold out for sales booking for that time of year.

We are going out 3 weeks before you and booked over a month ago. Even though I promised myself I wouldn't I checked yesterday and our flights have gone up £90pp.

I find one of the best way to find which carriers do you route is to put it in expedia and see who comes up. Then check the individual websites once you know who flies there.

Into Miami you can do direct flights from London or indirect from other airports.
Is it 2 weeks? just had a quick look Indirect with Iberia from London £435pp Direct with BA £528. From Manchester indirect Delta £485. These are going Weds 21st for 14 nights.
What price you thinking of? Unfortunately they don't get a lot cheaper than this anymore around school hols,

Wayneg/Torsie

New this would be the best place to come - thanks guys for the info.

Can be flexible on the outward as long as we are in Miami for the 23rd when we sail. The looking to fly back c9th May - so just over 2 weeks.

We're in the Midlands so can do either Manchester or London. Never flown with Iberia - any feedback on how they are?

Re hotel in Miami: can you recommend where to look to book this- am I best going via hotel website or some other route?

Also, stupid question really but assuming we will need to pay for flights in full up front? Never booked all pieces independently before so this is all new to me! -

Really can't believe how late Easter is next year- trust it to be the year when I want to be away for my birthday (40th on Easter Monday!!!)

Thanks again.

Sorry no experience at all with Iberia.

For your hotel I have no idea about Miami hotels, have you seen one you like or an area you want? If you post dates and hotel with best price you can find I will gladly try find a better price for you.

Yes you pay upfront for flights usually, unless you go thru a travel agent who accepts deposit only but most require full payment.

I flew with Iberia to Orlando in 2008. It wasn't intentional- I'd booked with Travel City Direct and ended up on one of their planes! It was ok. There was no seat-back entertainment, which is obviously a huge drawback. They did play films on screens dotted around the plane but the sound was terrible and I couldn't really see properly. The food was actually quite good and the cabin crew were nice and helpful.

Advice please - if you don;t mind?!

Virgin have direct flights at £498 cash or £433 & 2000 miles (we've only done 1 flight!) does this sound like a good price? seems the cheapest I've seen so far for direct!

Thanks in advance!

That looks a good direct price to me :)

If you want to use the miles then go ahead, you aren't saving loads but unless you want to get more miles for a future upgrade you might aswell save the extra £70 each.

I would probably book at £433 + 2,000 miles, you might possibly see a better deal but you might not, if they are exactly what you want its worth paying to get it done with and no stress of having to keep looking and then maybe having to accept something not as good.

he who hesitates....!! checked at lunchtime and M&M flights gone :scared1:

Will check again 1st thing to see if any have opened up - if not looks like £498 direct with Virgin - which is on hold at Flight Centre

Keep everything crossed for me ;)

Never post a good price on a forum until you've booked it yourself. The internet is your best friend and worst enemy in one. lol
