I cannot recall.......if we are flying air Canada with a stopover in Montreal, will we have to claim our luggage in Montreal before going though customs?

I am almost sure that you have to claim it and bring it through yourself. Anyone know.

When went through Montreal a couple years ago we had to claim our luggage. I remember we waited for an hour and a half for one of the strollers. They had one guy unloading the luggage and it took forever. It was a good thing we had a 3 hr layover or we'd have missed our connection.

No you do not need to claim your luggage. They will show you a picture of your luggage to identify. I went through Montreal last October.

Thanks Disney Daniel. That's great news! Ted....turn up the Forida heat for me!

I'm not seeing that on the airport's website, or Westjet. Is this just for Air Canada?

Not sure. I flew through Toronto three weeks ago on my way from Halifax to Los Angeles on AC and did not see any bags on the carousels. When I asked about collecting my checked bag I was directed to a self serve kiosk where I entered my information and was told to proceed directly to customs (evidently if there is a concern about your bag you are informed as such via this kiosk). Once I passed through US customs I checked with an AC agent who told me that they were doing a trial run of automatic bag transfers for US bound connectors. I had no problems and my bag was waiting for me in Los Angeles.

Woohoo! So glad to hear this; we have missed our connection in TO because we were stuck in that baggage line...(Someone pulled us out eventually, but it was too late by then.) Going through Mtl outbound and TO inbound in August, this will be great! :cool1:
