Hi Guys,

Im tryig to get my finances in order to work out my next WDW trip!

Can anyone give me a price for flights from the UK (We're willing to fly from Man, Birmingham, London but would prefer MAN) for the last week of August (Which I believe is slightly off peak compare to early August).

Also the same for October? (Approx Prices)

I can't decided whether to look at booking the last week of August for the low crowds/high temp, or book October for the F&W festival at Epcot.

Dependant on the month we choose will also cause difference in resorts! If we go in August we're considering OKW to be close to DTD/I-Drive for universal, but if we go in October we're considered BC/YC to be close to Epcot for F&W festival!

Any advice as always is greatly appreciated! xxxxxxxxx

P.S Also we're not too bothered if is direct or in-direct but would prefer only one stop if its in-direct.

I can't help with August but we've done a few October trips and I have been watching October prices for this year since February.

I also don't mind indirect, and prices vary greatly as always, but we've always managed to get flights for October for under £550, the average being slightly above that. We fly from Scotland so our prices tend to be slightly above those for departures from the major English airports but they aren't usually too far off the mark.

Given the choice, I would far prefer October to August. Your room rates will be lower, weather better and F&W and MNSSHP makes for a really fun trip

Thanks! A lot of people have recommended October be a use of F&W and I'm really interested to go to that! Are the crowd levels quite high during this period or not to bad in your opinion?

I've heard the last week of August is great for low crowds, which is a plus point but I'm not sure I'd be too keen on all the thunderstorms that come with late August!

Is October still warm enough for BB/TL?

Hi, We have been 3/4 times in Mid / Late August and yes the crowds are lower it is still busy but certainly better than when we went in May & June, Yes you get few big storms but nothing that has spoilt or holiday or even a day, last year when ISSAC just missed Florida last year we lost about half a day so we went shopping instead.... :) :thumbsup2

Well I think October might have been chosen!

I can get flights with seats & baggage on fly Thomson Cook for £890 for both of us return into MCO! In August its coming in at £1300! A £400 difference is alot of extra money towards a different resort, or for spends at the F&W festival!

Now just to take the dive and book, and not tell BF until its too late!:rotfl2:

I would definitely go for October. August direct flights are typically £700- £800 each. October flights are usually between £500 or £600 in my experience.

The crowds are low in October too- more-so than August for the most part by far I think.

If you go at the end of October you get to experience the F&W Festival, MNSSHP and MVMCP! (MVMCP starts in early November).

We paid £1200 for last minute VA flights each in August - the flight was full! We wouldn't usually have paid that much but we only booked six weeks before...

Thomas Cook are pricing up at around £400 for October next year. It's a massive difference in price!! Although it would be much cheaper for August booking a year in advance.

Side note, but I much prefer October to August anyway so I couldn't justify the extra cost!

Oh for goodness sake, could someone, anyone PLEEEEEEEEEEEZ have a half decent flight sale SOON so that I can free up 85% of what should be my free time :lmao:

Where are you flying from Azza?

We booked last night for Aug 2014, 5th - 19th and paid £2247, Me, DW & DD (9)...
Manchester - MCO...... Just got a feeling flights are going to expensive next summer !!

Who are you flying with?

There is a part of me that wants to just book and get it over with. I've lost count of how many times I've had flights in my basket and hovered at the check out. Once i've booked I'm pretty good at not looking so I'm reasoning with that logic at the moment. It's just that for the time I'm planning to travel and being willing to be flexible on stops, route, airline, airports, etc, I feel that what I'm looking at is more in line with summer holiday prices than the pre-end of term time 2/3 of the way through June ..... Oh decisions!

The last trip I booked I did it 'live' whilst discussing it on a thread while a bunch of us dithered about just taking the plunge - it was a hilarious yet nerve wracking thread all in one :lmao: Perhaps I'm just hankering after the company and moral support :rotfl2:

I feel your pain we have agonised for the last month on booking or waiting !

Vibe I got from online searching and speaking to agents was going to be around £2600 for me, DW & DD (8)... :dance3:

We agreed it was going to be in school holidays again so cost was going to be high AGAIN ! But after flying into Tampa & Miami a few times from Heathrow & Gatwick we said this time Local Birmingham or Manchester and into Orlando to keep it simple for us. No overnight hotel stays in UK, No car parking charges in UK im lucky and get free hire cars in UK via work so we use one to and from airport.

Booked with Fly Thomas Cook last night £2247 from manchester great flight times and this included baggage & pre booked leg room seats for us... We had friends who used them this year to Mexico & USA and didnt have any issues , yes there not BA or Virgin but I didn't want to pay £2600-£2800 for flights...

Got so much more work done today in the office :surfweb: :)

:lmao:Oh I hear ya!!!

Just to rub salt in the wound, my flight dates opened up with BA on 17th July. The sale ended on the 16th and though I can change my dates to later, I can't go any earlier so I'm still smarting from that blow, lol

2tiggies, flying from MAN - MCO 21st-28th oct! Comes in at £890 with luggage, but thinking we might pay the £40 for extra leg room? I'm going to keep an eye on them over the next couple of days just see if they fluctuate at all. Otherwise I think we're decided on it!

As there a bit cheaper in hoping we can get into BC resort instead of OKW/SSR so we can walk to Epcot for F&W festival! I'd never have considered October but now I can't stop reading about F&W! Sounds like ill need a larger pair of jeans for going home in!

Most of the flights we were watching increase anything between £50 and £300 over two days...
