While searching Disney+ I discovered another underrated Disney movie from the 80's called Flight Of The Navigator and from what I saw of it it seemed like a nice movie and I think Disney live-action movies should've been promoted more in the 80's and Flight Of The Navigator should've done better in theaters

I still remember seeing this at the theater when I was in the sixth grade :)

Yeah, that's a good one, but it has a weird ending. I remember liking it though.

DH and I both loved this movie as kids. We watched it on D+ with our kids last summer and they thought it was hokey. For a kids focused sci-fi flick of the 80s it was good. Decent cast too.

Yeah, it is a bit hoeky, but still fun. I think The Last Starfighter holds up a little better, but it skews older. Navigator has a Wonderful World of Disney vibe going for it, not that that's a bad thing.

I don't know how I missed this growing up, going to movies all the time in the 80s, but I've never seen it! Will have to check it out one day. Also enjoyed Last Starfighter, then and now.

This was constantly in my rotation of movies I watched as a kid in the 80's (among Ghostbusters, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Goonies, etc.). There is also a fantastic video on Youtube titled "Flight of the Navigator: VFXcool", which goes into great detail about all the visual effects in the film, which were actually pretty groundbreaking given when the film was made.

Funny you mentioned The Last Starfighter. DH mentioned needing to introduce our boys to it soon as he watched it a lot as a kid.
