I know this probably sounds weird but I am thinking about changing my plans and flying instead of driving (found 3 nonstop tickets from Grand Rapids, MI to Orlando for $550 roundtrip was almost $900 earlier) and I have a question. If our flight leaving WDW doesnt leave until 7pm can we still visit the parks during the day after checkout of the room and if so, what do we do with our luggage since we won't have a room to leave them in? Just wondering because I don't want a flight that leaves at 7pm and have to checkout by 11am and nothing to do for 8 hours.

Disney will store you luggage for you in their baggage room. Just give them the luggage and then go play until you have to leave.

I'm assuming this baggage room is at the resort that we will be staying at then?

Thanks for your reply.

Also, if your trip is after May 5th, depending on what airline you fly, you might be able to get your boarding passes and check your luggage at your Disney Hotel using Disney's Magical Express Service. If you have any carryons, your Disney Hotel will store them for you.

The resort, actually virtually any hotel, will store luggage for guests who check out before they're ready to leave.

If you're using ME and are flying a participating airline you'll actually be able to check your luggage at your resort and won't have worry about getting to the airport.

How do I know what are participating airlines? It will be NWA arriving 8-13 and leaving 8-20.

Currently the following airlines are participating in the resort checkin portion of the program:

American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Song, United Airlines and Ted

Disney is hoping more airlines will sign up. My guess is if SW and JetBlue sign up the rest of the airlines will have to follow.

So should I book the flights and hope that NWA hops on board with the program or go with Delta? Or I could stay with NWA, is there another form of transportation that I could use besides renting a car, is the regular bus service still available?

You can use Magical Expess no matter who your airline is. The only difference is on the return. If your airline is a participating airline you check luggage at the hotel and don't deal with it again until you return home. With NW you would just pick your luggage up from the bell desk, put it under the bus and check it at the airport. I would go with cheap LOL!

:rolleyes1 I am hoping also that nwa signs up for ME. Our trip is June 1-10. I have hope that they will since NWA and Delta are partner airlines. Maybe we should start letting NWA know that we want them to get with the program. Our flight out of MCO is also not until 7:20 p.m. Would love to just have the whole day to play w/o having to worry about the luggage.

We do this every trip, leave the luggage at the resort for an evening flight. Just remember though, you'll have to leave the park for the day at about 3:00 or 3:30 or so, to leave time to get back to the resort and pick up your ride (get your luggage) by 4:30 to get back to the airport. We like to be at the airport 2 hours early. It sort of cuts into your fun at the park, but you could also get up very early that day and be the first ones there. Have fun!

We did this last trip, and it worked out great. Along with leaving the luggage, with the front desk, we stashed a change of clothes, and swimsuits at a locker by the pool. It was very refreshing to come back, take a quick swim, and then get ready to go to the airport.
