We just returned from our 7-night Carribean cruise on the Fantasy. We had 1st seating and we were off the ship by 8:30-9. We car were in the airport by 10am. Our flight was 4:00pm
Things to keep in mind:
- you can't check in your bags until 4 hours prior to the flight

We ended up doing a Day pass at the Hyatt Regency while at MCO. It took the pressure out of keeping up with our luggage before check in, gave the kids something to do and allowed my husband to nap before the flight. We're planning on an earlier flight next time.

If you're going straight to the airport I think the perfect time to fly is around noon.

If you are able to do onboard check in with your airline you can leave you backs outside your room on the last night & won't have to see them again until to you get back home. We did a 3:10 flight last year and worked out great. Took time disembarking. Did a little shopping at the airport. Got through security. Had nice sit down lunch then only had about 45 minutes till boarding.

1200 is fine provided there are no delays.....300 is much safer.

Remember anything can happen, the vessel be delayed,, Customs hold up releasing the vessel, car or bus issues/breakdown, highway constructIons, accidents, and YSM delays.

True this does not often happen, but they do And missing the flight is expensive.

Also keep in mind that Orlando gets lots of thunderstorms about 3pm-ish in the summer. We were delayed in boarding due to a ground stop until the storm passed.

We have always taken later flights out. It gives us time eat on the ship with out rushing. With the later flights you can watch the lines at the airport and get in and out of TSA quickly.
