Before we made our reservations I found flights from Dallas to MCO for around $200 pp, roundtrip for 2nd week of August. As soon as I book my hotel, now the flights are $250+! :headache: Should I book or wait it out? We're willing to do layovers, I just don't want to spend $700 or $800! I mean, our hotel won't even cost that much... ugh...

Book now - the earlier you book your flight the cheaper it will be. In my experience the longer you leave it the higher the cost will be, you will also have less choice regarding seat selection too.

Airlines only sell so many tickets in each fare class and when those fare classes are sold the price moves up to the next fare class.

I know, I probably will book. I just hate to think the rates will go down if I wait a few weeks. You think the airlines and Disney are involved in some sort of conspiracy?

There is contrary information to the above post. Many people say there's a "window" to get the best deal... I think it's 3-5 months out. If you are that concerned about costs...

1) Keep an eye on prices.
2) Book when you are comfortable with the price, NOT worrying about what they may do next month, next week, or even tomorrow.
3) Once booked, NEVER look at prices again. (NOTE: the exception to this is for airlines that will give you credit if their prices drop).

Wait and check the fares on a couple of Tuesdays or Wednesdays when on average it costs less to book.

Or if you can travel on a Tuesday or Wednesday as well then on average the fare will be lower still.

Alternatively wait for a sale instead of buying at their everyday low price.

Except for really popular times and dates (like Sunday after Thanksgiving), "buying early" is not in itself a good strategy.

I would wait. With Spirit entering the market early this summer, you never know what fares are going to do!
