Flight from Toronto

my mini van is a 95 and takes (again depending on cost per ltr) about 60 - 70 to fill these days which is why i was using the $75 per fill as my calculations - who knows what the gas will be in May but i would rather over budget then under.

about 450-500km per fill 2100 km's from Toronto to Disney World = 5 fill ups

i'd love to have a better fuel efficient van but not this trip plus the unit on the top doesn't help with fuel consumption either.

We drive from Ottawa twice a year with our 3 teenagers. I drive a 2007 Dodge Caravan and we estimate $350 for fuel. The fuel calculator comes up with $360. We DO NOT stay in a hotel either way but drive straight through. We do pull over for naps but the kids are used to sleeping en route. We bring sandwiches, fruit, snacks and drinks in a cooler. We do stop for coffee a few times but that's it. No way that we could fly any cheaper.

To me.....time is money.....again folks - 2.5 hours vs. 21 hours! I figure 18.5 hours extra vacation time is worth a few hundred dollars!

I still on't see any Airtran deals for March 09. Let me know if you see anything March 11-21st. Thanks!

Although I agree time is money, it does take some time to get to the airport and to the Disney resort so I'm looking at 7 to 8 hours versus 22 to 24 hours. If there's only 1 or 2 in my party we're flying for sure, but over 2 passengers, many times we drive. And a road trip can be fun too.:)
